R-SIM is a SIM card add-on that looks like a really thin SIM card that mounts on top of your nano sim (or below depending on the model) that allows you to bypass the sim lock by hard coding a new ICCID that is unlocked.

You can buy the R-SIMs off ebay/amazon and they are usually $10 give or take.

It works reasonably well and the wiki talks about how to operate it, the only challenge is sometimes iOS updates break it and sometimes you need a new ICCID but for the most part it's great and allows you to use a SIM locked phone with any provider. and in this case you dont have to wait 180 days with Cricket to get an unlock code.

Keep in mind it is unlike the factory unlocking process which is permanent. Here you are dependent always on the R-SIM.

back in the day it also went by the name Gevey SIM.
As long as you have an old Sprint SIM card laying around (they're reusable)... and an IMEI from a phone that's compatible with Sprint's network, you can sign up for the $5 service (data only) or if you want to play it safe... $6 service (500mb data, 100 min). Pay for service, enter in IMEI and SIM card info, activate. You'll have instant access to a new phone number, pin to access port out info.
I bought 2 already. total cost $196 for 2 phones. trade in value of SE at apple is $210

I already have an unlocked iphone12 using on tmobile. Can i get the SE from cricket by porting my # from tmo to cricket and then using my unlocked ip12 on cricket by acting the cricket sim on ip12. All without turning on the SE. Then can i just trade in the SE for another unlocked IP12 from apple for my other line at TMO?. Not sure if need to turn on SE or use it for a period of time before trading in.

This thread is so long and the deal is complicated, but ! I take this is a better deal than the Costco one.

Could someone break it down for me?

When you buy a port in number do you have to use that on the new account? I would like to keep the number I have now with AT&T. Is that possible?
I have the same question. Can we switch to att number later?

I need to buy 2 but it doesn't give me a discount on the second one? Total comes out to $389.98 for two. Any clues on what I'm doing wrong?

I haven't gotten mine from this deal yet.
But I did get an SE from the net10 deal today and it's the regular packaging.
Not the slim packaging.

If you talk to the right agent you can get them to pull the account number and pin.
If one agent doesn't give you the account number and pin talk/chat to another.
I did 2 for myself yesterday, I verified with Cricket chat support that the port information was verified.

You are either logged into an existing account
OR
you are using numbers they think are part of the AT&T mvnos or numbers that until the recent past were cricket numbers
OR
you've already gotten a recent deal from this address

Atleast that has been my experience

I have an RsIM15 and I was not able to get it to work for me - I even followed the wiki workarounds
