R-SIM is a SIM card add-on that looks like a really thin SIM card that mounts on top of your nano sim (or below depending on the model) that allows you to bypass the sim lock by hard coding a new ICCID that is unlocked.

You can buy the R-SIMs off ebay/amazon and they are usually $10 give or take.

It works reasonably well and the wiki talks about how to operate it, the only challenge is sometimes iOS updates break it and sometimes you need a new ICCID but for the most part it's great and allows you to use a SIM locked phone with any provider. and in this case you dont have to wait 180 days with Cricket to get an unlock code.

Keep in mind it is unlike the factory unlocking process which is permanent. Here you are dependent always on the R-SIM.

back in the day it also went by the name Gevey SIM.

As long as you have an old Sprint SIM card laying around (they're reusable)... and an IMEI from a phone that's compatible with Sprint's network, you can sign up for the $5 service (data only) or if you want to play it safe... $6 service (500mb data, 100 min). Pay for service, enter in IMEI and SIM card info, activate. You'll have instant access to a new phone number, pin to access port out info.

Freedom won't work as it is an ATT Mc i and uses ATT network.you need to port in over from a non ATT network which in this case is TMobile Verizon. Sprint and their respe mvnos

Nope. For some reason google voice numbers cannot be ported over to ATT network because Att treats them as a landline which is true but a ATT problem not a google voice problem. Better try go the tello way .much easier,faster ,cheaper and without issues.

I ported over a $15 connect plan using the T-Mobile esim app for iPhone. You need to get the account number from T-Mobile by logging in to your account through their website. The account number for prepaid lines used to be the phone number but has since changed.

It's been 7 hours and haven't gotten anything else since this email.

I received this error because I used the prepaid phone number for the account number. They sent me an email about 12 hours later to fix this issue. Once I used the correct number the order went through.
