R-SIM is a SIM card add-on that looks like a really thin SIM card that mounts on top of your nano sim (or below depending on the model) that allows you to bypass the sim lock by hard coding a new ICCID that is unlocked.

You can buy the R-SIMs off ebay/amazon and they are usually $10 give or take.

It works reasonably well and the wiki talks about how to operate it, the only challenge is sometimes iOS updates break it and sometimes you need a new ICCID but for the most part it's great and allows you to use a SIM locked phone with any provider. and in this case you dont have to wait 180 days with Cricket to get an unlock code.

Keep in mind it is unlike the factory unlocking process which is permanent. Here you are dependent always on the R-SIM.

back in the day it also went by the name Gevey SIM.
As long as you have an old Sprint SIM card laying around (they're reusable)... and an IMEI from a phone that's compatible with Sprint's network, you can sign up for the $5 service (data only) or if you want to play it safe... $6 service (500mb data, 100 min). Pay for service, enter in IMEI and SIM card info, activate. You'll have instant access to a new phone number, pin to access port out info.
I bought 2 already. total cost $196 for 2 phones. trade in value of SE at apple is $210

Question for anybody that was as able to order 2+ Phones and are planning on trading in:

Does Phobio limit the amount of devices you can trade in?

I'm surprise when I pop in the sim card from the iPhone SE to my Galaxy Z Flip, my cricket account deleted the iPhone SE already... Guess the unlock timer will reset. But then I guess I don't care since that iPhone SE is long gone, no longer in my possession... Sold it locally for $300 laugh out loud

When I was checking out a banner dropped down from the top offering an additional $20 off because its 2020. I clicked Apply and it took off $20 as a promo code that may have been called 'take 20'. I had to hang out on the screen showing the total as $109.99 for awhile for it to appear. Paid $89.99 plus tax for one phone and one month of unlimited service.
thanks! this worked.
$176 with tax for 2.
Covers the cost of the port numbers Applause

thanks for testing this!
Weird that others say they use it in different phones and can still unlock their original iPhone that was purchased with cricket

Yup... Honestly was expecting to get maybe $250 - $275 at most, but surprised someone gave $300 for it. If I couldn't get around $250, I would have just sent it to Apple Wink

Yeah... I don't know how others are doing it if that's the case, because once I popped the iPhone SE sim into my Galaxy Z Flip, my cricket account recognize as:
-BYOD Phone
-Model Number: DEFBYOD

right.
The same thing happened with me with the iPhone 8 deal.
Cricket sent me a completely dead iPhone 8 and I had to send it to apple to get it replaced.
They sent me a replacement and for that line and replacement phone, it said the same, BYOD Device

I just placed an order for 2 iPhone SEs. I was only able to provide port-in account & pin details for 1st line. No option to provide details for the 2nd line. Both lines are bought from eBay have different account numbers & pins.

For those who ordered 2 like me, can you please let me know how you provided account & pin for the 2nd line ?
I never got the email but I went to the page to check on the status of the port and was able to enter the info there and eventually it changed to "you're all good" or something like that.

There is a page to check the status of the port ? I only see a order status page.

I did however receive 2 separate emails asking for account number and pin. I updated and it said the transfer is delayed. I spoke to a chat specialist and he said everything is good and I can expect the devices shipped tomorrow.

https://www.cricketwireless.com/portStatus.html Someone else posted it here but it's now buried somewhere in these 118 pages. Talking with the customer service rep is the safest route to go to make sure it's all taken care of.

Thank you. Resembles the order status page I visited early. It says I am all set. Let's see how long it will take for the phones to arrive with all the holiday rush. 🤞

Does cricket allow my phone to be changed to existing iphone 11. I have tmobile service. I want to add cricket on my SIM on iphone 11. Also I had 4 lines and I am porting 3 lines out in few days. Do I get any credit?
