R-SIM is a SIM card add-on that looks like a really thin SIM card that mounts on top of your nano sim (or below depending on the model) that allows you to bypass the sim lock by hard coding a new ICCID that is unlocked.

You can buy the R-SIMs off ebay/amazon and they are usually $10 give or take.

It works reasonably well and the wiki talks about how to operate it, the only challenge is sometimes iOS updates break it and sometimes you need a new ICCID but for the most part it's great and allows you to use a SIM locked phone with any provider. and in this case you dont have to wait 180 days with Cricket to get an unlock code.

Keep in mind it is unlike the factory unlocking process which is permanent. Here you are dependent always on the R-SIM.

back in the day it also went by the name Gevey SIM.

As long as you have an old Sprint SIM card laying around (they're reusable)... and an IMEI from a phone that's compatible with Sprint's network, you can sign up for the $5 service (data only) or if you want to play it safe... $6 service (500mb data, 100 min). Pay for service, enter in IMEI and SIM card info, activate. You'll have instant access to a new phone number, pin to access port out info.

Some of you were having RSIM issues. I am one of you. No matter what SIM I put in the phone with the RSIM it didn't unlock. The problem was an outdated ICCID. Note the Geveystore site ICCID is not always up to date. I updated the Wiki with a link to the most up to date ICCID numbers. I used one and it worked fine and unlocked the phone.

If you cancel the service, are you still be able to unlock the phone after 6 months?thanks
No, you must have active service for 6 month on Cricket to unlock the phone. $60 credit = 2 month (activate service, downgrade immediately to $30/mo 2gb plan) + $25 referral credit + $5 for 3rd month. Then you'll have to come up with $90 for the other 3 months. Out of pocket service cost should be around $95 or less if you're able to refer others after activating the line.

Do you need tellio SIM card to create yellow number?
Gotta love auto correct.

Yes, SIM is required, but it doesn't have to be Tello specific SIM. I have an old unlocked iPhone 6S with a pre-existing Sprint SIM. The SIM is a generic Sprint one.

As part of creating a new Tello number, the website does ask you for your device's IMEI number. It also ask for the SIM's CCID number.

I actually got the Sprint SIM from Amazon a while back for $0.99. Unfortunately, they are no longer available on Amazon now.

use the cash back site(to get 40$ as a new user) and also 10$ when you order on cricket. This will cost you around 180 for both lines combined. If you deduct that CB of 50$, you are getting 2phones for around 130.
Based on comments from others, it looks like once you activate 1 line, the other gets activated - personally I am not sure though. I am expecting my orders to be delivered tomorrow, so will see how it works outj

Is it cheaper to refer to two different lines, or buy get 1st line at 60 and then second line at 30?

where are you seeing those days? thank you
goto Account Settings
then click "Get Code'
then click on "Request Unlock" for a device/line

The days has been stuck, not moving since the last 4-5 days
Is anyone seeing the counter drop in the last few days?

its cheaper if you put in both phones in one order.. if you were to order the phones separately in two transactions, then the plan price stays at 60 ... so that would be 2x50+2x60 rather than 2x50+60+30

But doesn't the wiki say you can downgrade from 60 to 30 on same day?

Downgrade is only useful if you plan on keeping the phone on Cricket for 6 months to unlock it. Otherwise, having 2 phones in one order is cheaper unless you plan on having an account for referral.

yes you can downgrade the plan as soon as you activate it. I have done this twice on previous deals

say you order 1 phone, you will have 60 credit.. now as soon as you activate it, you can downgrade it to 30plan thereby getting 2months of service

if you order 2phones, you will have 90credit(60+30).. you can downgrade to 30 in this case as well but for the second month service you may want to add another 30 if you want the service on the second line. Just an option and not mandatory to do so if you do not want to maintain/use
