R-SIM is a SIM card add-on that looks like a really thin SIM card that mounts on top of your nano sim (or below depending on the model) that allows you to bypass the sim lock by hard coding a new ICCID that is unlocked.

You can buy the R-SIMs off ebay/amazon and they are usually $10 give or take.

It works reasonably well and the wiki talks about how to operate it, the only challenge is sometimes iOS updates break it and sometimes you need a new ICCID but for the most part it's great and allows you to use a SIM locked phone with any provider. and in this case you dont have to wait 180 days with Cricket to get an unlock code.

Keep in mind it is unlike the factory unlocking process which is permanent. Here you are dependent always on the R-SIM.

back in the day it also went by the name Gevey SIM.

As long as you have an old Sprint SIM card laying around (they're reusable)... and an IMEI from a phone that's compatible with Sprint's network, you can sign up for the $5 service (data only) or if you want to play it safe... $6 service (500mb data, 100 min). Pay for service, enter in IMEI and SIM card info, activate. You'll have instant access to a new phone number, pin to access port out info.

Obviously they didn't read the thread or the wiki lol. It's $210 per phone if you trade it in apple while buying a new phone

I did read it. Lol Seems like a lot of work for around 200 bucks (after spending about 190 bucks for the two phones plus 6 months of service). Not to mention, it's a gift card. You can do better with bank bonuses.

Okay, I'm in a bit of a quandary.

I bought a 128GB iPhone SE for my mother around December 6th by using a Boost account/phone/PIN number etc that I bought from a guy one of the SDers on the $49 iPhone SE at cricket thread recommended.

UNFORTUNATELY, it initially took a couple of days to get cricket to verify the "previous" Boost account information and actually ship my iPhone SE out and then UPS kept not actually knocking when they were supposedly going to attempt delivery; so I had to pay an extra $5.99 to use UPS my choice to re-route it to a pickup location.
By the time I actually got the iPhone and attempted to activate it on Cricket it turns out the the Boost account number that I was porting from has "expired".
I didn't know that the number was only good for 7 days, so now I'm wondering how to get my iPhone activated on cricket since I don't know if it'll raise some red flags that I'm trying to use a whole new account/phone/PIN number for this iPhone SE.

Not to mention I still need to actually GET a new Boost account number, but I'm leery of working with the same guy since he never even MENTIONED that the account was only good for 7 days...<.<

Any suggestions?
I do want to keep this iPhone since it's a 128GB one instead of a 64GB one...

Yes, it's back on online!
I'm going sit this one out for now, and wait for the next deals on either iPhone X or XR in February when they would probably be offered for $199.99 or $149.99.
I'm new to doing porting in deals, so I'm wondering why you think that the iPhone X or XR will be on sale at cricket in February. Could you please explain your reasonings a bit more to me?

I tried since I had 1 around, but doesn't go through. If you want to do the address tweaking to get over the 2 per address limit you can try Privacy card since it can be any billing address, but it links to a bank account.

Other comments I read said service is necessary 6 months, but it can be downgraded to 30 dollar plan. That's not correct?

Address jigging does not work. I tried many different combinations. They fixed this loop hole hence they allow sales online again instead of in store only.

People are downgrading only to keep service for 6 months to unlock the phone. You don't need to pay 6 months if you intend on selling or trading in the phone; so your phone cost is only $100/mo when ordering two in the same order; trading in for $205 profits you $105 per month.

I was able to put an order for 2 in - previously ordered 3 different orders for the same address. Order still processing (1 number confirmed 1 number still pending) so I may get cancelled, but sounds like people are getting rejected before completing order so maybe I'm clear?

You can cancel or just not pay anymore after the first month bc it's prepaid and you don't sign a contract
