R-SIM is a SIM card add-on that looks like a really thin SIM card that mounts on top of your nano sim (or below depending on the model) that allows you to bypass the sim lock by hard coding a new ICCID that is unlocked.

You can buy the R-SIMs off ebay/amazon and they are usually $10 give or take.

It works reasonably well and the wiki talks about how to operate it, the only challenge is sometimes iOS updates break it and sometimes you need a new ICCID but for the most part it's great and allows you to use a SIM locked phone with any provider. and in this case you dont have to wait 180 days with Cricket to get an unlock code.

Keep in mind it is unlike the factory unlocking process which is permanent. Here you are dependent always on the R-SIM.

back in the day it also went by the name Gevey SIM.

As long as you have an old Sprint SIM card laying around (they're reusable)... and an IMEI from a phone that's compatible with Sprint's network, you can sign up for the $5 service (data only) or if you want to play it safe... $6 service (500mb data, 100 min). Pay for service, enter in IMEI and SIM card info, activate. You'll have instant access to a new phone number, pin to access port out info.

Yeah, a lot of us got that.

Just give them a call and tell them that it's practically new.

If I bought two phones and cancelled the lines, am I eligible to order more phones to the same address?

Yes, if you are just buying Androids. 6 months for iPhones.

For those using the phones for trade-in: 1. Do you need to cancel Cricket service first before sending it off? 2. how do you cancel service so it takes effect immediately? I can't seem to find any tab in the online account to do it myself.
No need to cancel the service. Just trade in the phone and the service will be canceled on its own after two months (if you have downgraded to the $30 plan)

Sent 5 and got $205 all of them. I recorded the whole packaging process with temper evident tape, just in case.

Does anyone have a screenshot of cashback in wiki-buy that was offering $30 for a cricket account? I don't know what date it switched to $5. I remember ordering something on Dec 7th and the cashback was $30, but that tracked to only $5 and the CSR in wiki-buy says the $30 cashback ended on 11/30.

that was for me when I did the cricket iPhone 7 deal
Thanks! What did you do after unlock? Asked them to cancel the service or just ignore the payment? Is it OK to cancel right after unlocking?

I just let the plan die on it's own.

Agree, letting the plan to die keeps them happy; also doesn't raise any flags

I got the deal in November, so I'm already in my second month. When I go to Crickets website and click on unlock. It says I need 179 days more. It should have 30+ days subtracted from that. I dropped my account to the $30 plan on day one as well. Anyone else not seeing the days left to unlock not being updated as well?

I placed an order earlier this evening for just one iPhone SE. Checked the port status on Cricket's website and looks like everything is okay. Now just waiting for the phone to ship (hopefully tomorrow).

But now I'm wondering if I can place a second order for another iPhone since the limit is 2? Or did I mess up by not ordering both at the same time?

And if I can indeed order a second phone, would I still be able to take advantage of the multi-line discount and only pay $30 for the service on the second order?

Thanks for any help or advice.
Should be able to order one more phone without problems. But no discounted plan since it will be counted as a new account.

You can try to order two more in one order, if it goes through, you will get $30 discount for that order.

Same issue, stuck at 179 days. Activated on Nov. 25. Did you contact Cricket? I haven't done it yet.

I posted a question on how to use Phobio Virtual Apple Gift Card that I received from trading in an iPhone SE and somehow I cannot find that post anymore... deleted? Is there a problem with my question?
