As other commenter said, these are huuge. It may not seem like much in size in images, but it may just not fit in your case. There was height clearance list on the web if I remember correctly. If not, check some reviews on the case with previous buyers confirming they have successfully fit this cooler in their case.

There are a few motherboards that have components laid out in such a way that it will not fit due to RAM clearance or other heatsink issues.
This link will take you to their site for compatibility checks:

It will, but the better question is, will it fit your case.
Ok. Good question.
Yes. This is one of the best air coolers on the market and beats/matches most AIOs. It is pretty much neck and neck with the Noctua NH-D15.
I would say yeah. These are pretty much as good as air cooling gets. You might not need these for lower to mid end system. 212 would do great for those at lower costs. If your system is higher end and would like to do some overclocking, this air cooler definitely makes a difference in keeping cpu cooler and most likely help with longevity of the cpu. These compete well against noctua's 14 and 15 coolers, which is extremely popular among builders and enthusiasts (and dark rock is very popular too btw) If you get this, you basically dont need to worry about cooling factor too much unless you are putting some uneducated/wreckless clock speed and overvolting on the cpu for OC.

Yes. Like what other said... But the real question is... Do you need it? A 212 will do fine for most avg builds unless you have a higher end pc or plan to do some heavy OC
I got the 2600x with the wraith prism (bought it off someone with a x2700). You if you download the msi command center app you can change the fan settings greatly. I used to have the same issue as you but after 1-2 I finally found a setting that works for me. For ref. I do minor OC @ 4.0-4.2 GHz
I just bought the 212 BE (on sale for $35) to compare the idle fan noise and slight better cooling. The idle noise of the wraith prism isn't bad but it would be nice to be even more quite in the mornings when I'm studying. Not a huge deal but for $35 why not... I don't think I'm ready or need to spend 2-3x on a cooler thats overkill for my needs.
