For those that got this to work, how long before the code came through? I signed up maybe 10 minutes ago but still haven't gotten a confirmation email or text.

The last time they had this offer, I did not receive the welcome message. I decided to try sending Y to short code 22020 and immediately received a reply with the code.
I don't think it's a gift card. Try putting it in the certificate section. You will have to expand it as it is near the credit/debit section. You will also have to insert the amount of the certificate, which would be $5 in your case.
Used the $5 certificate and page showed it applied, but the email confirmation shows full price/it not being applied. Does it still charge your card the correct amount?

It should charge you the correct amount.
I used my 10 certificate on an item that cost 10. I did not input any credit or debit info. At checkout, I pay 0.00. Not even tax. In email confirmation, it said it charged me 10. Most likely on the 10 certificate as that is the only payment method I used.
In your case, I wouldn't worry about it too much. If worst comes to worst, assuming you used credit - you can always dispute your transaction. And if you only used a certificate, like me, then no worries. For debit, I'm not sure - I believe you can dispute, but I don't know how it works.
If you can, check your bill online and see what charges are pending or posted. This should give you a peace of mind. Hope this helps!

Free shipping is for bronze member and up.
In a different thread, someone mention about talking to customer service and being able to get the shipping cost waived. You can try that if you like.
