It's a big plus to be able to place it anywhere that you want/can get the best sounds out of, but the base itself is absolutely incredible. Deep, rolling rumbling, yet still subtle rather than loud thumpings. I have the Gen2 and I can't believe I didn't get it (and the Sonos ecosystem as a whole) sooner.

Got the Beam last BF for this same price. TLDR thoughts, sounds WAY bigger than the size. I always thought Sonos had a brand premium for premiums sake (i.e. Bose), but all in all, it's totally worth the cost if you stream most of your music over the internet (i.e. Spotify) and need a soundbar, and use Google home or Alexa.

It replaced a 2.1 Sony soundbar w/sub, but tbh, the spatial sound is much better from the Beam even though it's half the length. Obviously a dedicated sub sounds better, but the amount of low frequency this thing can grab w/o distorting and sounding decently rumbly is very surprising.

It was my first Sonos speaker, and had me sold on Sonos products. Actually have an Arc in my cart w/ their 15% upgrade discount.

Both. Sonos is pricey but you get what you pay for.

If you are talking about the Costco deal from last year, it was close to $180...I got it at last BF too.

Side note if anyone can answer: I have a vizio soundbar right now (this system [costco.com] - I don't use the sub/rear speakers because my apartment is too small). I also have an echo studio. I haven't honestly been super impressed by the audio quality for the studio. How much better is the beam than the vizio? My logic is to sell both and get just the beam instead. Does the beam work well from watching tv to playing music via the sonos app or casting to it?

I go the Arc for my main family room when it first came out and have been waiting patiently for a sale on the Gen 3 Sub. This is good, but do we have any idea if it could go any lower for the upcoming holidays? At this point I'm gonna wait it out.

I'll be finding out tomorrow. I have an older vizio and I'm tired of dealing with it's issues so I'll be giving the beam a try. My room isn't huge and we mostly use it for regular tv viewing.
