smr is best for drives that don't get written too very much. Lots of reads and for backup storage, and smr is fine. Otherwise it can be slow and works very hard at killing itself.

I think it supports external drives but doesn't play ps5 games from them. You need to move games to the internal storage to play them.
On another note. Solid deal. Regularly goes on sale for this price. I got it at this price in August. Great drive for PS4.

So from your analysis, it play PS4 games from the drive, correct? Wander if it play PS4 games if the drive is connect to PS5. If not, might have to spend $10 more to buy WD Black version. Any difference between easystore and black?
