Bought it on Sunday and installed it yesterday, first new TV in 14 years. Only way I knew was when taking down the old Panny 50 inch plasma it had a manufactured date on the back. TVs have changed a lot in 14 years. I am not sure if this TV can operate without an internet connection! I am also shopping for a TV for a relative but they only need it for OTA reception of local channels. I am sure it can work without a internet connection but not sure if I want to find out.

One con is it only has 2 HDMI input. Between the chromecast and the Xbox nothing else can be connected. No composite, no S video, just 2 HDMI. I understand we live in the world of streaming but ONLY 2 HDMI ? It does have this Samsung Smart TV plus which almost acts like cable tv with so many channels. Is that all free stuff ?

There is a toslink digital out, connected it to a Pioneer receiver and works well. Have to find the rest of my surround sound spearkers (the rears and the subwoofer).

Good TV, especially for the price. Wish it was a bit brighter, and I live in a northern state.
