If you bought a wireless device from Google Store (like a Pixel phone) and want to return it, do so within 15 calendar days of receiving it. A restocking fee of $35 applies to any return of such wireless device (excluding purchases and returns occurring in Hawaii and where prohibited by law). I had an option to reactivate my account and I went thru the steps. It shows 499 for m I am hoping this works and counts me as existing FI customer

How do I qualify for the $500 discount as an existing Fi customer?
To qualify for the $500 discount, you need to:
Activate the Samsung Note20 or Note20 Ultra on the same account used to purchase the phone.
Activate the phone on a full service plan (data-only SIMs do not qualify) within 30 days of the shipment confirmation email and remain active on Google Fi for 90 consecutive days.
The discounted price will automatically apply during checkout. If you do not meet the conditions above, the discounted amount will be charged to your Google Pay account to match the full price of the phone.

If you paid in full: Once we've received your phone and verified it's in good working condition, you'll get a refund for the full cost of the phone, including any taxes. You should see the refund on the credit or debit card in your Google Account that you used to purchase the device within 14 business days of us receiving your phone.
So I think this is where they have a more generous return policy than the actual Google store it comes from. Doesn't even say it has to be unopened, just return in 15 days and you get the money back 14 business days from that.
I've checked the details and I would like to inform you that you should activate the device with Google Fi within 30 days of the shipment confirmation email and remain active on Google Fi for 90 consecutive days.
The device should have Google Fi SIM and should be with Google Fi for 90 consecutive days.
