Note this is the SB-2000, not the "pro", meaning it doesn't have the newer amp, driver, and phone control DSP. Still a great deal, just don't get the two confused.
I have had both the pb-2000 and the pc-2000 in my home to try out yearss go. I can recommend the pb-2000 at this price point without any apprehensions. It's a solid sub at this price point, goes low and has a quality amp with great warranty and Customer service. The pc-2000 I would not recommend unless you have a space constraint situation. It's just not as good as the pb-2000 in overall impact due to it's smaller overall volume. Running a high quality spl meter on both of them with the same output levels being used, same source material, the pb-2000 was always 2-3 db higher and it always hit lower. Just for reference, I am currently using a Pc-13 ultra 1000 watt RMS & it is outstanding by every measure (of course, it is in a much diff league then the pb-2000/Pc-2000)!
Looking for primarily music, should I go with sealed or at this price point pick up the PB2000?
For music the rule of thumb is to go with a sealed sub, it is far more accurate and has a much faster response time for "music" which is what you would want. Plenty of articles all over on this point, of course, you can buy both, try them out and return the other one NO COST back to SVS for a full refund in 45 days!
That's an excellent price. I bought the PB12 NSD 2 years ago at $499. It's a good sub. I've been wanting to go to a PB 2000 and this price is the lowest I've seen. However the budget this year as I'm getting my new business off the ground does not have any room for this purchase. None. Oh well. Hopefully they will have it again
Just don't mistake the lack of boomy bass from the f12s going to the PB-2000 as a downgrade. They will be flat across the frequency response so they can be turned up higher and hit harder. Make sure to put them on opposite sides of the room from each other. Look up the "subwoofer crawl" if you haven't already for optimal room placement
This is very important point! I second this 1000% if your used to these $200 subs that are all boomy bass between 40-70hz, these svs subs will sound like they don't put out as much bass. They do, it's just it's 100% clean and hits down below 20hz which the cheapo subds can't even come near.
How does the SB-2000 compare to the RSL Speedwoofer 10S? At the current $499.99 deal, it's $100 more than the RSL.
Their CEA output measurements are actually extremely similar. Like within 1dB across the entire bass range similar. Obviously the SVS is sealed and the RSL is ported, but the RSL is supposed to be exceptionally tight for a ported sub.

Right, that's what I'm getting at too. So if you were me, are you going for the cheaper RSL?

would it be stupid/waste of money to have them in front of the room, one on each side of the table.
I was expecting the PB12 for $500, as their usual BF deal... sucks that they bumped the comparative up by $100 and not offer the PB12. Is the PB2000 worth the extra $100?
Man was hoping for the pb12-nsd but I'll have to live with the pb-2000.
same but have to purchase something otherwise going to have to wait for presdentials day/memorials day. Next major holiday where they have these sales.
