Note this is the SB-2000, not the "pro", meaning it doesn't have the newer amp, driver, and phone control DSP. Still a great deal, just don't get the two confused.

I have had both the pb-2000 and the pc-2000 in my home to try out yearss go. I can recommend the pb-2000 at this price point without any apprehensions. It's a solid sub at this price point, goes low and has a quality amp with great warranty and Customer service. The pc-2000 I would not recommend unless you have a space constraint situation. It's just not as good as the pb-2000 in overall impact due to it's smaller overall volume. Running a high quality spl meter on both of them with the same output levels being used, same source material, the pb-2000 was always 2-3 db higher and it always hit lower. Just for reference, I am currently using a Pc-13 ultra 1000 watt RMS & it is outstanding by every measure (of course, it is in a much diff league then the pb-2000/Pc-2000)!

Depends on your appetite for bass and shaking the place.

A friend of mine is perfectly happy with one PB-2000.

So I was originally going to buy the PB-1000 ($499) for our media room. The room is only 11'x18 and 8 feet high, and I don't have a lot of space for a sub. Will mainly use for movies.

Would you recommend sticking with PB-1000 or moving up to 2000 line? Thanks.

ETA: Crutchfield also has this sale if you prefer to buy from them.

Man was hoping for the pb12-nsd but I'll have to live with the pb-2000.
Same here... Seems like svs is trying to squeeze out a little extra this year...

I disagree stay far away from getting (2) sb-1000's! Trust me on this... Either go with pb-2000 or 2 of them~!
Ok thanks! Take this rep I don't need it anymore. Got two PB2000 7.2. Now I have to hide the mail from my wife.

would I need two of them (PB-2000) for a basement setup with normal ceiling heights and lets say 11 * 18 room

or should I just order 1?

I thought there was some 5% discount code for going duals ?
Since you asked the question, I think you will not need it Smilie
Even otherwise, based on that room size, I don't think you need 2. My friend has one, which he uses it in a larger room; and the room literally shakes at 50%.

Check also what SVS' customer support say (they are very responsive for online chats).

If you ask in these forums, people will say 2xPB16-Ultra or bust. I don't know what type of houses they live in, to be honest Smilie I have PB-1000, SVS-Prime towers and center in a much larger room, and I am very happy with them. At 50% I could feel the shake even before I bought those towers and center.

Right. You can always preorder the RSL though. But I just wanted to know the general opinion between the two because I'm a first timer when it comesto building an HT system. So there's really no notable cons for the SVS compared to the RSL?
I haven't heard the RSL, but I'm an svs fan. I have a 7.2.4 HT consisting of
Ultra towers
Ultra center
Ultra bookshelves
Prime bookshelves
Prime elevations
And PB-2000's

I'm never changing my set up, unless it's to upgrade subs which I absolutely do not need to in my size room, 16x20x8.5.

Just based on the specs, I would say there's no con except the $100 more, but it's worth every penny. A 10" sub is never going to do what a 12" sub can.

The only reason I would go with 1 sub over 2 is if the 2 wouldn't hit a minimum frequency I was looking for. I'd much rather have 2 subs in a home theater, especially if there are going to be multiple people watching things in it since it will even out the bass response throughout the room.

This is the cheapest it's ever been, and new. An outlet deal with imperfections may not be this low next week.

I picked up a PB12 NSD outlet last year for $500. I love it, but I'm considering doing 2x PB-1000s to space out the sound stage. I can definitely tell where the bass is coming from. Hmm.
