If youre going to do ATT just get the ATT prepaid 8gb/yr plan. It costs $254/yr after target 10% off on refill and 5% disc with redcard. You wont get deprioritized to the least. My latency was through the roof with redpocket in bay area so any google assistant query wasnt immediate which is so annoying
Just a warning to all, STAY AWAY FROM REDPOCKET. They are con artists who promise unlimited talk and text but will suspend you over 1500-2000 minutes of usage and sometimes tech support will re-activate you and mostly they will tell you to buy add on minutes to continue using. No term were broken (they audited my account and admitted as much, but they said there is no limit but to protect their network they cannot give you too many minutes) so in fact their unlimited = Limited. I had paypal get involved in all three of our lines and won all the cases. They played dirty like responding to the case the last second.

You may think that 1500-2000 minutes is enough for you. But think, what if you have a loved one in a hospital meaning more usage and no one can reach you. They don't send any warning texts they just cut you off in middle of a conversation. I hope one day thee FCC sues them and screw them for millions like they did to tracfone a few years ago.

Redpocket = Scampocket

Yes, porting to Red Pocket is effortless. It is all online and takes few minutes as long as you are providing accurate port in information. Just be carefull on port in form where it says 'password' they actually mean PIN from your previous carrier, not your login password.
Thank you!

There's quite a few regulars here that have been burned by Red Pocket. They get downvoted but nobody would be going out of their way to warn people against this company if they didn't have good reason. Stay away. There's plenty of other great MNVOs on here to use. Red Pocket isn't one of them.

I just ported over last week and this one got me. It took a few days to get it worked out. I would get one message from IT a day. Then I had trouble activating which took another few days. For some reason I couldn't disable VoLTE on my OnePlus 7 Pro, so they had to turn it off on their end. Then I had to activate the SIM on my wife's Pixel 4A because it still wouldn't work. Then I had to have them re-enable VoLTE to be able to make a call. Now my incoming text messages doesn't currently work, it worked a few days ago though. So far it has not been a smooth transition.

I have the 5GB plan from last year expiring in March. If I add this code to my account, does it add onto my current dates or does it lose them and start the clock from the date you add it?

Also if I get the 3gb one this time, can I renew it at this level or is this considered a new plan altogether? And again can I add it to my account now and have it kickstart at the end of the current term?

I've had Red Pocket on AT&T for 2 years now. Haven't had any issues since the first 2 months and will be buying this. Thanks!

(eBay description might be off because it was 7GB until a few hours ago)

That is the right choice: wife does not watch pr0n!

The Red Pocket website makes it look like this is their Black Friday sale. Plus, you can get 5% back in Ebay bucks right now.

Last year they had a bigger sale on Dec 4

... but not for this plan (which was the 5 GB last year, increased to 7 GB during the year, and now just increased to 8 GB.) The sale on this plan started last year on Thanksgiving day for $195 and lasted through most of December (although it disappeared for a few days here and there), and didn't drop lower. Looks like this may be the "holiday" price this year, started just a little earlier. But who knows, maybe they'll drop it a little more, but then it might not line up with an eBay bucks offer (or coupon, but they're pretty rare with eBay nowadays.)

Redpocket seems to probably work better with iphones.

I have issues getting on LTE with this Iphone but the 3G is honestly ten times faster than my former provider Visible.

For 20 a month for 3Gigs it's not too bad.

Just FYI, if you buy or renew the plan through Red Pocket site directly, they charge a much lower tax rate. For a 8GB plan, my tax on eBay would have been $19.50, vs. renewing directly the tax is $6.70.

I've been using Red Pocket for a couple years now. It's been okay, but I use Google Voice for all my calling and texts. So, the only part of my Red Pocket plan I actually use is the data. I hate paying for unlimited minutes and texts when I don't even use them. Are there any better deals out there on data only service?

You should now see your plan as 8 GB. (What was the 5 GB plan became the 7 GB plan and just today became the 8 GB plan.) This can add on to the end of your current plan, since it's the same plan.

The 3 GB and 8 GB plans are different plans. Switching from one to the other will be effective immediately and kill any time remaining on the current plan, or at least that's how it used to work.

That is, applying the activation code from EXACTLY the same plan that you already have will extend it; otherwise, the new plan will immediately replace your existing plan.

Why 90 day activation limit? Never had this limit previous years.

Why not a full year?
So that you're less likely to be able to take advantage of the sale again next year?
Or maybe it's that their system is very simple and they treat each month as 30 days (30 x 12 = 360)

I've had it for 2 years on two different phones with CDMA ( verizon coverage ) and its been OK. The visual voicemail stops working about once a year and I need to call them to re-activate it. Sometimes my phone shows no service or it doesn't ring when someone calls despite being in an area with decent coverage, I think you get deprioritized when networks ar busy. When you need to call them for customer service its frustrating since they don't have full access to verizon's systems, but its still much better than having to deal with tracfone customer service.

All in all, I'd say its the same or better as verizon prepaid and definitely worth it for the savings.
I don't do visual voicemail but I agree with the stuff about calls
