Great bundle offer here at Acme Tools on the DCKO975M1 with a $30 price drop and then a $50 in-cart promo code (DEWALT50) for a final price of $179 that is normally $279. The string trimmer kit (DCST925M1) sells for $149. So for $30 more you get the 20V Brushless bare tool blower (DCBL720) which normally sells for $139 as a bare tool.

The DCST925 is a brushed motor string trimmer.
The DCBL720 blower is brushless however it is the older model with the DCBL722 available now.

People give the DCBl720 a bad rap but I thought it was fine for clearing out the driveway, patio, walkways, etc...

I paid $115 for the DCBL720 with 5ah battery and charger in April 2020 as part of Acme Tools Spring Black Friday. The DCST925 Trimmer I picked up as a bare tool on clearance at Home Depot this summer as a gift for my dad. Ended up giving him the blower too so I could have an excuse to upgrade to get and try the DCBL722.

I think this is still a good deal if you are just starting to enter the battery powered lawn segment and you want to use Dewalt as your battery source. Its not the latest and greatest gear but still a decent kit, the battery here makes it worth it for sure.

Shipping was $7 and tax was $11 for me bringing it up to $197 which isn't bad. The same combo kit is currently $206 from amazon if this deal sells out

Free shipping On orders of $199 or more. Since the coupon makes it less than this, it charges shipping

I own both... A single 4ah battery won't cut it if you plan on using these for extended use (over 10 min). If you already have Dewalt batteries and need these tools for your collection this is a good deal, else plan on buying additional batteries (at least 6ah).

Can anyone with these tools recommend them for a 1/4 acre lot?

I have all dewalt tools and several batteries, but the reviews on how long these lawn tools last on a battery seemed to be super mixed. The largest batteries I have are two 9ah, a 6ah and a 5ah.

I've been considering Ego, because I've been hearing nothing but good things in terms of power and battery life on a single battery. But obviously that's way more along the lines of dewalts 60v line. Which I'd have to buy flex volt batteries anyways because I have none.

Are these 20v worth it if you have a "larger" lot?

I have about a 1.5acres of land I actively maintain. I have the brushless trimmer DCST920 and can do all the normal trimming on a single 5ah battery. (I do have my Echo gas trimmer if I need to get agressive with trimming around the wood line though)

I have the DCBL722 and I can blow down the ~100ft driveway, ~50ft front walk way and landing, and my small deck on a single 6ah. This is just cleaning dust, debris, cut grass, etc. I don't really use it to do leaves, just small spot areas on the lawn.

My dad is on a 1/4ace and I gave him the exact tools that are for sale in this kit and he hasn't complained. I don't know his battery usage but I know he has 2x5ah and 1x2ah at his disposal.

I think this trimmer would be fine for you 1/4 acre. Not sure I would 100% rely on any battery powered blower if you have to handle leaves and such.

Lots vary from mostly rock and sand in much of the SW to grass and weeds in the Midwest. I have/had both and unless trying to cut brush, you will get about 5 minutes per amp out of either tool. I gave this trimmer to my brother, as I also have the DCST920. In fact, the blower is so reliable at 5 minutes per amp, I use it to check newly acquired batteries.

Now, if you are trying to mow a 1/4 acre of grass with this trimmer, you will test the warranty.

20V lawn tools may not hack it if you live in the south, regardless of brand. I have a few 60V tools that barely "cut" the mustard here in Florida.

No pun intended ...

Good deal. I have the trimmer. I paid $100 for it with 4.0 battery and charger. Do the math for the blower. I think it would be good for most. The trimmer performs well but it spins opposite most brands and the shield doesn't do a good job keeping debris off your feet. I love it though. Works well on the 4.0 batttery. I have also ran the 4.0 knock off batteries on it and they perform well, however, don't use them on blowers because they don't have the proper juice for high load devices like blowers. I have two of the knock offs that work well on my chainsaw, drill, weed eater and fan but not the blowers.

The Ego HD combo deal was better. 15" stringer uses .095 line and a lot more powerful blower, longer warranties. Was $200 - $20 coupon.
