This was sitting in my cart when I noticed the price plumet. Maybe Black Friday or deal of the day, but seems temporary

Lol. When Asian Test Kitchen rank it higher, let me know.
Good price if you need it now, but has been as low as $199
A world of difference, an instant pot cooks rice as a mush, not even close to almost any dedicated rice cooker. Jack of all trades master of none, comes to mind

Are you sure? I checked camelcamelcamel and this was the lowest price in over 2 years. Where and when was it $199. I can wait till Black friday but I decided to buy now and think later on this one with the option of returning. I am loathe to spend $200+ on a rice cooker but my research shows that the induction ones are the best. Also trying to cook rice in a pressure pot after my cheapish rice cooker broke after 10 years showed me very quickly that it was never going to work.
Anyone think the non induction models might go down to about $130 for black friday and is it really worth the extra to get the induction models?

What's the difference between this and an instant pot. Ip appears to do lot more than rice but I also know this is very quality japanese kitchen appliance maker.

3/20/2020, $199.99 from Amazon.

Not that I'm complaining. I watched it climb from $260 up over $300 and back down. I ordered today and chose the slowest shipping. If a better deal shows up later this week I'll cancel and reorder.

I'm waiting for the fuzzy to go sub $130. Does the induction tech warrant the higher premium in comparison to the fuzzy model?
