My local Costco was out of sim cards so I couldn't add a line. The rep tried to use an un-activated new sim card that T-mobile sent me along with my S20 FE. When he scanned the bar code of that sim, it didn't work b/c missing a number or something. So if you are traveling far to go to Costco, I'd recommend calling to confirm that the Costco location has T-mobile sims in sufficient stock.
Just added a line at Costco with no issues. The agent immediately ask if I was here for the free line. He was happy to do it and asked if I was bringing my own device. Gave me all the paper work and sent me on my way in ~10 mins. Confirmed on T-Mobile website that the line was free.
I was with a T-Mo rep on the phone trying to get the free line and he mentioned I am not qualified since I have an Amplified plan. My SOC code is MGAMP2, and even though it shows up as valid in the OP's doc, the rep said all Amplified plans are a no go with the current free AAL promo.
OK thx, was wondering why ppl keep like 10+ extra lines as the fees do add up..makes sense if they are on the one/magenta plans..

Are there monthly taxes or fees when adding those lines? Not sure if being on simple choice VS one plan makes a difference
no. monthly don't go up.
I already seeing on my t-mobile account as "2020 Line on Us 3"
i have t-mobile ONE, 12th line... thus NO Taxes/Fees.
sweet!
now just need to wait until Nov 2021 and figure out how to move existing line on top of the FREE lines. aka, port-out and port-back-in since now "2020 Line on us 2" and "2020 line on us 3" i'm certain were added at Line-level, not account-level sucks.
my "2020 line on us" #1 was added at account-level.
anyone can share a light, what is the cheapest to port-out t-mobile and port-back in? i need to keep my permanent numbers. but don't need the FREE line # yet.
Just goto Costco and have them add a line. No need to mention ' this is a free line ' since that'll likely throw them off.
As long as your plan qualifies, you havent cancelled a line in the last 90 days, and have 2 post paid lines active... this line from Costco will get registered as ' This one on us'
Done!
But it doesn't stack with the iPhone mini offer right? If I got the iPhone mini offer today, I can't get the free line on us. Does that sound right?
Does anyone know if this Costco deal is stacking with porting in a phone number as well? Is it best to port the phone number in right away at Costco or will that mess up the Costco rebate?
Folks, I am switching my 5 numbers of my family from Cricket.
I have 5 phones: 3 unlocked and in use and 2 new Samsung Galaxy A71 from T-mobile from one of the last Samsung.com deals.
1. How can I get $200 Costco GC's (5 of them or maybe more)?
2. How can I get $100 port-in deals from T-Mobile?
3. What plans from T-Mobile can I sign up for: paid lines (the less price the better) and free lines?
4. Should I get Costco membership before getting to Costco's cell phone rep?
5. Will I be able to make it all go through by tomorrow's night? (have to pay for the new Cricket cycle).
Thank you and Happy Holidays!

Did you have to show the byod phone or provide its imei while adding this new line ? Or can just get a new phone number with out showing the device ?

They are 2 different deals. Free line can be added on all eligible accounts. Iphone mini is a trade-in offer which can be availed on an existing line as an upgrade.

I was told by tforce and by 611 that if you redeem the iPhone mini offer, you cannot get the free line. It's one or the other.
Got the flexpay error at Costco. She said she has to call T-Mobile and could be up to 45 minutes wait. Considering the free line promo, I'm wondering if it could be even more?

Did you port in a number at the same time? Someone says if port in the number later might void the $200 Costco rebate.
