How does the byod work? Can you just give them the imei of any phone youre already using on your account, or does it somehow cross reference with your what's currently active on your account and have to be a new imei?

I gave them IMEI of an older phone that was used on my Tmobile account a few months ago but had since been replaced with a new phone. They just typed in the IMEI number in the system. Doubt there was any cross reference.

I also went to Costco this morning. 2nd in line (the first person was also adding a line on T-mobile). Said I wanted to add a line on T-Mobile for the $200 Costco card. I did not mention the FREE T-Mobile line at all.
Rep asked me to log into terminal with my SSN and Last Name. Once my account was found, Rep asked for the IMEI of the phone I was going to use and area code I wanted for my new phone number.
About 10 mins later scanned my Costco card and gave me SIM card. Had me sign a few forms, gave me Costco $200 card submission paper work and off I went.
Got home and installed SIM card in the phone. A few mins later I got a welcome text from T-mobile. Checked my account online and FREE line was showing up on my account - 2020 Line on Us 3 (Additional Lines).
Already submitted paper work for $200 card.
I did the same. How can I check the promotion under my account?
Folks, I am switching my 5 numbers of my family from Cricket.
I have 5 phones: 3 unlocked and in use and 2 new Samsung Galaxy A71 from T-mobile from one of the last Samsung.com deals.
1. How can I get $200 Costco GC's (5 of them or maybe more)?
2. How can I get $100 port-in deals from T-Mobile?
3. What plans from T-Mobile can I sign up for: paid lines (the less price the better) and free lines?
4. Should I get Costco membership before getting to Costco's cell phone rep?
5. Will I be able to make it all go through by tomorrow's night? (have to pay for the new Cricket cycle).
Thank you and Happy Holidays!
Several questions to my these 5 questions (maybe I will get some more answers):
1. Can I get these Costco deal when I don't have an existing account with T-Mobile? (because somebody told that they provided T-Mob account number and SSN to Costco rep).
2. Does the cheapest post-paid plan "Essential" qualify for both T-Mobile and Costco deals? (somebody mentioned "Magenta", but not "Essential")
3. If I have 5 phones (two new prepaid from T-Mobile) and 5 Cricket numbers BUT actually need just 3 numbers to use, should I just transfer 3 (2 paid and one free?) or it makes sense financially to keep all 5 and get bunch of Costco GC's and 4 T-Mobile (because there limit of $100 virtual GC's is 4 per account)? What's the optimal way? TIA

Can anyone confirm whether military magenta plans work for this deal?
Also, I have six lines currently. I was told last year that having 7-12 lines puts you into a different "bucket" than 1-6 lines, and Costco can't change "buckets." Took several silly-long calls to resolve. Wondering if this is still the case? TIA.

But if you do costco deal without porting, you will have a different phone number with costco rebates $200 when subsequently you port a number for tmobile rebate $100.
Does the SIM need to be in the BYOD device for a certain period to get the rebate or can I use it on another device during while waiting for the rebate to process?

It'll seem like you'll be charged with whatever your additional line cost is ($20 or $30 per month). But it'll be free in T-Mobile's system as long as your plan qualifies.
thanks waterchange. It is what you said. I got charged 30 and then when I logged in - I see 2020 line on us 3 (additional lines).

No, the military family plan does not qualify for the free link promo. I tried.
