Bought a similar deal from Target a couple weeks ago. I love this thing. A couple tips: DO NOT use anything other than PURE WATER to carbonate. Carbonating anything other than straight, unflavored water (even fruit infused water) will result in a super fizzy mess and a nozzle that will harbor bacteria. There is no advantage to flavoring before carbonation. Also, for fizzier drinks, use very, very cold water. Additional flavoring syrups from other brands like Mio or other water additives work great too, just don't use anything powdered unless you dissolve it in water first.

It's very easy to refill canisters yourself with dry ice and save a LOT of money.
Dry ice sells for $2-3 a pound at grocery store. You need about 1.5lbs to fully fill the canister.
Wear gloves!
Make sure canister is empty by pressing release valve on top of the bottle with your finger. Take a wrench and unscrew the brass valve from canister, take note not to lose the black rubber washer. Throw 1.5lbs of dry ice into a blender to turn it into powder. Attached a funnel to canister with masking tape. Pour dry ice into canister, leave couple inches from top for valve. Screw in valve and tighten with wrench, don't over tighten it won't unscrew under pressure. Let the canister sit for 2-3 hours in warm temperature for ice to turn to co2. Enjoy your fizzy pop!

Has anyone tried to infuse fruits into the water yourself using this? I was looking at Sparkel on Amazon but this is cheaper.

There are sites with recipes to DIY fruit syrups. That way you can adjust sweetness.

It looks like adding juice to the bubbled water works too!

I've been on the fence between this and the OneTouch. Do folks have a preference?

This is true if you're not patient. I carbonate beer all the time, and straight up fruit juice

This thing is awesome. I did a cost analysis a while back (buried in another thread here) but you definitely save a significant amount of money over buying cans, even compared to the Bubly sales Target has now and then. Few tips:

- Don't overfill the bottle beyond the line, or else have a towel in hand when the bottle overflows.
- Make sure to press the carbonation button down fully. My wife didn't press hard enough at first and complained there was no carbonation.
- I find 2-3 second spurts to work best. I usually need to press about 4 times to get it fizzy enough.
- When you hear a burst of pressure being released from the bottle after pressing the button (it's noticeably louder than the first couple bursts), you're pretty much maxed out so don't bother continuing to inject carbonation. I usually get there in about 4 three second presses (give or take 1). If your bottle has been in use for a while, might take an extra press.

I got the $70 deal with the extra couple small bottles and this is one of the best purchases I've ever made. Drinking non-flavored carbonated water for me has completely killed any desire to drink soda. OEM CO2 refills are very reasonably priced and easy to find (got mine at Staples), especially since it only costs about $16, which I just got last week and was my first refill after owning for a little over three months. If you're extremely frugal and hardcore, there are DIY tutorials on how you can rig this to work with a huge third party CO2 tank that'll last you over a year.

Is this really sick since all are selling them for a same price? Seems like purchasing directly from SodaStream has the best options with brush & caps? Is it worth it? I only drink Costco Vintage Seltzer Water.
