Decent specs, oddly can't find this model listed anywhere on Lenovo. The only reference to models starting with "90R8" are european models....

However looking at a similar model (90R7) it lists 380W power supply - and the memory is dual channel (2x8GB) which is good (if in fact this model is also that way, who knows). But only a single PCIeX1 expansion slot.

No optical drive if that is important..

Since specific model: 90R80004UT cannot be found at Lenovo's product specifications reference (psref). Model: 90R80004UT could have either the 310 or 380 watt PSU.

Similar specs, the lenovo comes with free wireless kb and mouse. Either should serve photo editing just fine (maybe even overkill).

Personally I'd choose Lenovo over HP due to having to fix a lot of HPs that broke due to poor design, but that was years ago so I can't speak to current quality. Just have always steered clear of HP since then.

I've had terrible build quality and customer service problems with Lenovo recently.
I'd go HP or Dell.

Unfortunately that's the case with all big brand manufacturers now. Same with the mobo. I think some of the higher end ones from the big brands (like alienware?) may still have atx supplies but it is uncommon.

I steer clear of HP for the same reason. Lenovo laptops have been great but haven't worked on one of their desktops in years so dunno. Even Dell has issues, they had some models overheating a while back. Sadly just the trend these days.

That's their naming structure. The 5i are 5-series Intel (replaced last years T530).

They are supposed to have a 7i coming soon to replace last year's T730. Should go as high as a 10900K with RTX 2080ti.

I need to replace my current HP desktop that is like 8 years old. Not much of gamer so just need one that is current and do basic stuff plus some editing. I came across the 5i series on Lenovo site:

Was considering either the i3 one that goes for $349 or i5 one for $499 that also has 256GB SSD. With coupon and cashback the i3 would be around $315 with tax and i5 for $450 with tax. Would either of these be worthwhile to get or would a custom build be better with better specs that would cost similar in parts.
