I don't NEED one right now since I have an 1/8" inch on each side to play with, but it sure would be helpful! š
I call it a shed, but it's a mini-house at this point hahaaaa... It's just a 6wx8t door, but it was nightmare to do. I had big plans for adding export fans, and electric lift, but after dealing with just the door, and insulating it, I wasnt wanting to do anything again involving a garage door.
I might just remove it, and build an addition there which will become a small little office and storage area.
Big plans... small patience lol.
Well I'm currently using 3 of a 3in poly caster on each leg (yes 12 casters in all) just to experiment a bit. I mounted them to a triangular 1Ā½in thick plywood sheet. I'm trying a bunch of types out now in the hopes of not having to drill into the leg.
In a few days, I'm set up to put in an 8in long plug that I'm curing right now. It is a mixture of epoxy and graphite. (A technique I used in my fishing rod building days).
Then I can drill a hole upwards, and into the plug, and then put almost any type of wheel I want on it... but that's the tough part... so many casters out there to choose from and I'm horrible at deciding which one I want. That is the "painful" part.
I'm certain the plug will stay, and likely outlive the stand itself.
I tend to overcomplicate tasks like this. I could go simple and put a wood dowel up the legs, and tap a hole through the leg and dowel, and put a wheel on each side, but there might be times I no longer want the wheels? And the workbench style wheels (the ones that mount at a 45Ā° off of the bench legs) are... well... I'll just say that I've never seen a good one.
So for now... it's a guessing game. I'm sure I'll make it and then 2 months later I will remake it once a better idea pops into my head. Hahaha
edit: Yes... I hate myself on occasion. Concussions are only fun for the first few years. lol
I ordered the N030317 XPS light for it, but instead of getting the full kit with Power Adapter and Handle I'm going to run the light off of batteries. Light was $23 and an IP65 3 AA cell battery holder with an off-on switch can be found on EBay for $6, bringing the XPS light mod to $30. If there's a warranty claim on the saw it'll be easier to remove the light if it's not wired in.
I'm thinking the batteries should work fine, the DeWalt Power Supply is rated at 5V and 3x AA batteries in series will be 4.5V. Typical forward voltage drop on an LED is between 1.8-3.3V and they're pretty power efficient.

Ah, got it! "Garage door". Hopefully it will be a bit easier to increase the custom door width by 2 inches on each side, if it frustrates me enough!
But, yeah, any great progress makes me slow down drastically as well!
Well, at least you have the tools to rebuild it into an office now! š

It actually looks like Type 1 is worse than the latter. See this thread: https://forum.toolsinac

Good article, i haven't opened mine yet to see which type I have. Hopefully since it's older than the article from 2019 might be newer.
The cashier and manager both confidently stated that they DON'T price match Amazon, but promptly changed their tune when I showed them the price match terms on Lowes.com that state otherwise (items must be sold by Amazon, not third party vendors). They were very apologetic and honored the price after all. Good deal
