I don't have that specific model but bought another one off amazon earlier this year that uses the same Bond app that the one linked here does. My wife and I find it incredibly useful and we use it every day. Being able to tell the fan to turn on/off, switch speeds, and change light levels all while lying in bed is a game changer. We can schedule the fan to turn off a few hours after we fall asleep. I can also control it from my phone if I dont want to use my voice. Works with both Alexa and Google, can be integrated in routines.
Don't buy a thermostat without checking with your local utility company first. Ours is currently offering the entry level Nest for free.
For anyone who has Cash App (and a Cash Card), there's also a 10% Boost for Home Depot currently in the app!
Alternatively, for any Texans with an H-E-B nearby, you can buy a $100 Home Depot gift card in an H-E-B store and get a $20 H-E-B gift card for free after digital coupon. Then just use the HD gift card in store as seen in this deal post.

More likely Google is having a hard time with production. Google store orders keep getting pushed back and both my local Targets only ever received one small shipment each.
Can't really discount and promote something when you never receive the item to sell.

Smart fans seem interesting. Are they just a gimmick or actually useful?

If you're subscribing to Netflix anyway, the bundle with ~$80 of Netflix credit for $90. you're getting the new Chromecast for $10 + tax.
I just got it a week ago, but am thinking of returning it because it does not support family link which enables kid profiles in the YouTube kids app.
Otherwise, the Google tv experience is pretty great. Definitely great at surfacing all the content in all your streaming apps in a highly accessible interface that is sorted by live tv, movies, shows, etc. Much easier to go through all your available content, compared to tivo stream 4k, which only supports sling for live tv.
However, as a parent to young children, that YouTube kids profile feature is pretty crucial, so the lack of support is a deal breaker for me.

No desire for Netflix. I got rid of my 1st Gen and want to upgrade to this, but with every other similar device, Roku and Firestick 4K selling for half what this one is, I feel it's overpriced

$10 off was announced and cancelled. Likely means it's selling too well to discount. https://9to5google.com/2020/11/26...-discount/
