If you're in the camp that has decided this is a gimmick / toy worth buying, wants to use it with an existing acoustic, and isn't getting a transacoustic or equivalent, this hasn't been cheaper in a long time. Matches the price of the similar kepmago.
I got one and it's a lot of fun, since I can have effects while traveling or outdoors and still "feel" unplugged.
More of a practice enhancer for fingerpickers and instrumentalists, as it doesn't really make your acoustic louder, but instead uses the guitar body to add warming effects without an amp.
Could enhance a small room performance without needing a second rig with need to plug in, but might be more a distraction.
Needs a pick up to transmit signal to unit that hugs the back, using some resonating transducer to add chorus , reverbs, tremolo, etc.
After some tweaking I've had good results. The key is to make it subtle. Too many videos showing over saturation of effects, drowning out the acoustics natural voice. Andy McKee has some good videos of him using it for practice.
The guys from acoustic paradiso described it best- you'll notice when you turn it off. Some will hate it, some will leave this thing on for good.
