These things are great as gifts to any outdoorsy friends. Otherwise, you could sell the 2nd one (eBay, CL, FB Marketplace) and likely get your money back.

How much heat do these generate, would they act as a small fire pit?

This looks interesting, but I barely see any difference between this and a charcoal chimney. I welded 4 metal pegs on my chimney to allow for setting a pan or pot on top of it.

The Biolite 2 looks really cool, but the 50w battery charger is a little weak. It would take over 6 hours to charge a 12v 26ah battery. Because of that, I'd avoid taking the battery with me to save on the extra weight, which makes the Biolite almost the same as this Solo camp stove.

I'll stick with my modified charcoal chimney and solar power bank. It's lighter, cheaper, and isn't a 1-trick pony.
I did something similar with the Weber charcoal chimney but it's not double-walled so there is no secondary burn. Consequently there is substantially more smoke with a single walled chimney. You really have to see these in action to appreciate the faster ramp up/burn and significantly less smoke

Got a Ranger fire pit early spring. It's outstanding. May want to look beyond this great deal and into other products.
Literally killing me. I was already considering b1g1 on all the others even though I almost never leave the house. Did you buy any of the accessories?

In for 2. Used the 15 dollar code posted above and used Apple Pay to check out and somehow didn't get charged tax.

2 campfires for $94 shipped. Will sell one on marketplace locally once the dust settles on these. Smilie

I think this is a "charcoal chimney" for folks that don't know what a "charcoal chimney" is, for folks with more then average disposable income, and those looking to impress. Nothing wrong with any of that, but I personally dig the charcoal chimney idea of yours, so thank you for that!!

Yes... they're high efficiency backpacking / camping stoves, for frying eggs or boiling water for coffee or dehydrated meals. They're not fire pits.

They ought to put a warning in this not to use indoors. The first couple of times it was fine in my sons bedroom. But the third time it set off the sprinklers in our apartment!!
