Also, if you want to use the laptop in very brightly lit environment or outdoor for lot of times, it will be wise to update the display to 400 nits option. Since this is a 2-in-1 with Touchscreen Display, it is going to be glossy and will have lot of glare in outdoor and brightly lit environments. 300 nits is still good for indoor usage but 400 nits will be a real step up.

Depends upon the version of both the Graphics cards. Intel Iris XE has three variants, 96 Execution Unit or EU in the Core i7 (i7-1185G7 and i7-1165G7), 80 Execution Unit in Core i5 G7 variant (i5-1135G7) and 48 EU in Core i3 (i3-1125G4 and and i3-1115G4) version.

Also, I don't see anything about the Webcam. Does it have IR and windows hello compatibility?

Got it! i ended up getting the spectre with similar specs but tiger lake 1165g7 iris xe. with cb and paypal checkout the difference is gonna be $150ish, figured thats worth it

Yes, Spectre is pretty good. Just remember one thing, the multithreaded performance of Ryzen 7 4700U is way higher than i7-1165G7 as 4700U has double the core count over 1165G7. If you use applications which use more number of cores like Video encoding, code compilation etc. 4700U can be better.

hope i didnt make the wrong choice! do get TB4 with spectre so i guess if i have to run an external graphics card i could?

This one is far better. Flex 5 is Lenovo's budget series, made of plastic top to bottom and has a dim 250 nits bad quality IPS panel with very low color gamut. This is full aluminium alloy design, has a brighter 300 nits display with 99% sRGB color gamut.
