My experience with backlit keyboards is they wash out on white or silver laptops due to the screen reflecting off of the keys. Opt for the Fog Blue to minimize.

Add TOUCH, 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD -- The configuration comes to 609, Apply coupon SMBHOL10 to bring down the total to $548.

Coupon SMBHOL10 works for $599 or more.

Paypal Chase offer gives 5% cashback too !!

Wow $400 for Ryzen 7 4700U + FHD screen + WiFi 6 (just $10 for the WiFi upgrade, so why not futureproof it), it's gotta be one of the cheapest, if not the cheapest ever for that combo.

A pretty futureproof buy, and I think the RAM and SSD are replaceable so if you need to do it now, or in the future, it's a perfect base to start with.

Thank you OP! With my employer discount I got it for $349! I got white, upgraded to 12GB, upgraded the screen and wifi and my total was $439. My son will be so excited come Christmas!
Which employer's discount? And what other discounts you applied? Configuration. Thanks

Excellent deal but will stick with Dell deal due to poor battery life (4700U and 41Wh battery), questionable HP build quality and restocking fee.
Do they charge restocking fee even if we return without using it?

God damn it slickdeals! I've already bought 4 laptops and i needed 1!

I might regret not getting this one but i still think the zenbook i bought with the specs shown below was the best bang for the buck i got ($450). Has premium build and extremely fast. Has anyone tried melting the solder off?

With the solder off you should just be able to slide in whatever memory you want after that into both slots right? Just like clipping a padlock off a bothersome fence?
I checked YouTube and it seemed more complicated than that. I've never tried messing with sodered ram, so I can't give first hand experience.

How is the build quality on this?

The dell 5000 was aluminum housing. Is this all plastic?
