My experience with backlit keyboards is they wash out on white or silver laptops due to the screen reflecting off of the keys. Opt for the Fog Blue to minimize.

Add TOUCH, 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD -- The configuration comes to 609, Apply coupon SMBHOL10 to bring down the total to $548.

Coupon SMBHOL10 works for $599 or more.

Paypal Chase offer gives 5% cashback too !!

Wow $400 for Ryzen 7 4700U + FHD screen + WiFi 6 (just $10 for the WiFi upgrade, so why not futureproof it), it's gotta be one of the cheapest, if not the cheapest ever for that combo.

A pretty futureproof buy, and I think the RAM and SSD are replaceable so if you need to do it now, or in the future, it's a perfect base to start with.

Can you share a picture of blue laptop?. I also ordered the same color. Just curious on how it looks.
yeah, it's a bit hard to see the metallic steal blue look. More space grayish in picture but in person, it's a bit more blue.

installed Mint
updated the kernel to 5.10.2
everything is working fine except the fingerprint reader...
usb-c charging, usb-c dock, etc.
unfortunately, this lap is same as Walmart one, making the annoying squeal sound
Thanks for the update. Are you planning on keeping it? I can't handle the squealing on my Walmart one.

1. You do NOT need to remove the entire rubber stip. Fortunately the screws are in the corner. Just pry up until you see the screw to remove. I prefer not to remove the complete rubber strip as it has a tendency to expand and not fit properly.
2. 16GB is plenty. I got 32GB for $92 last week and had points on my prime card so I indulged
3. Start prying from the mid point back of laptop (see video below). Use a credit card not a screw driver.

Hope this helps

Thank you very much for the info. Just curious, what do you do with the extra ssd from the laptop once you upgraded yours to a larger ssd? Sell it?

Windows Hello face recognition needs IR camera, which is not included and will cost extra. Hello fingerprint is not good enough?
Fingerprint reader seems good but face reader is more convenient as I have it in a dell inspiron. Better than not having either so no complaints! How to get USB C charging to work? Used a mobile USB C charger but didn't see any charging indication. Does it need special adapter?

We figured out that the laptop has a fingerprint scanner! It was not listed originally so a nice little surprise...
