The mop is a Komondor I have had a few 3 were rescue dogs, one was a show dog and the other just a pet from a breeder we knew that had too many male dogs.

Very cool! Such a unique breed. Is the fur hard to keep clean/unmatted? Does it require special grooming? Sorry to sound dumb, I am totally clueless about this!

It is funny the hair really requires minimal care to tell the truth. The regular Komondor that I had i just had clipped down in the spring and usually once again in the summer then let the coat get long for winter.

No brushing at all just pick out the sticks and other bits in the hair.

The show dog you would have to site down and split the cords with your hands and pick out bits of stuff but not much a week before a show he would get a bath then the day or so before another bath. Drying was more of a issues as it could take the better part of a day to dry.

it is supposed to be matted to tell the truth.

This is our dog Clifford. He has a lot of energy for a little old man (just turned 12 recently). He literally runs circles around me in our yard.

I didn't think we'd ever want to let another dog steal our hearts after the misery our last dog suffered through (likely cancer, never diagnosed). She withered away while we struggled to let her go.😢

I agree much better to let them go once they really do not seem happy.

Gus is our newest family member. He's a papillon and about 6 months old now. He's full of energy and barks!

The second picture is of our sweet boy Ozzy all curled up and sleeping. He is a papillon/chihuahua mix and is 6 years old. He has done really well with Gus. I love watching them wrestle!
