Took me a while to find a straight comparison of this tablet to the Fire hd 10.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Lenovo/c..._fhd_plus/
"Keep in mind, despite having an octa-core CPU, the lack of Cortex A-73 cores makes this a mainstream SoC at best, which fits the price point well. Other devices in the same class like the Amazon Fire HD 10 (2019) have more raw CPU power due to another component choice. In practice you won't see the same difference as clearly as in synthetic benchmarks and once you compare their behavior in daily use, the Lenovo should feel better than the Fire because 2 vs 4 GB memory makes a world of difference."

I bought the smart tab M8 with dock, expecting it to be a more flexible alternative to the Google nest hub.

It was slow to respond, the low percentage of the time it actually did.
Any reason to expect this to be any better?

This one has a much better CPU. Almost twice as fast as m8. Also 4GB vs 2GB ram.
Thanks, I also bought the m8 as a home hub, but will return it for this. I hadn't realized how useful a tablet would be at home untik this.

Is the Galaxy Tab A7 32GB for $149 a better choice compared to this Lenovo M10 FHD Plus? Any suggestions?

The M10 2nd gen folio case [lenovo.com] on sale for $7.99 seems like a solid add-on

This vs Samsung A7 I know 128gb vs 32gb HDD 4gb vs 3 gb ram 2.3 CPU vs 2. Why get the A7 then
I just bought this, for me Dock is a plus and can be placed on side table and double protection against charging port ( in case if USB-C fails) failures, I hope there will be Android open project support in near future if not now. 4GB/ 128GB is good enough unto Android 10 version. The problem I always have with Samsung ( Great hardware though) Tabs is bloatware.

Agreed I wouldn't shop with lenovo anymore.. they have given nightmares for warranty repair.. ended up with a bricked tablet last time..
I will be the fourth person to second this 🙂

Lenovo warranty is a joke. Buy a Lenovo product if you don't worry about warranty. I'm going to stay off of Lenovo unless they sell something at 90% off 😁

Looks solid:

- Android 10 support being rolled out: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/...s/ht501098
- Known issue where Netflix cannot play in HD, but aforementioned Android 10 update upped Widevine version, should allow workarounds like this patched Netflix app [github.com]
Thanks for the head up. Just got my HD8 plus upgraded.

I have a Smart Tab M8. Beware that the ambient mode slideshow feature is broken.

The Nest hub responds faster on "Hey Google" commands. The speaker on the Nest hub is also better. Overall, the Lenovo Smart tab isn't a replacement for Nest hub.

bought Samsung s6 lite for $220 couple days ago with Amazon sale, this seems comparable in specs and bit better except batter life - IPS, 128GB eMMC and 95$ cheaper, seems better choice.

Which pen can I buy to write notes on this? Will it need any App to take notes? I got the S6Lite but it came with a pen and note taking App. Thank you

You can manually install Google play store on the fire device. It is very simple and there are many tutorials online you can follow
You can and I can. But not everyone wants to or cares enough to do so. 🙂

If you have an ExpertVoice account, it's $121 for this same tablet.
