This model is not pure sine waveform, which is recommended for desktop PC. It's simulated sine waveform, hence cheaper
I wonder how many years before these finally start using lithium and last a decade.

I mean mine only turns on maybe once or twice a year and the battery is useless after three years.

Lithium can sit over a decade

Got one at TigerDirect with the $10 off. Thx OP! Got a second one from Office Depot. Since it is a "sale" item their 20% coupons don't apply...however their 5x reward bonus points coupon does apply if you are a rewards member and get the single use code coupons in the mail.

Haven't read any research on it but I would assume with newer power supplies, the waveform wouldn't matter entirely as your PC power supply does AC -> DC, and the DC signal is controlled regardless of AC input (which is why some products have 90-130V AC input range or even 100-260V AC input range. It just winds down the signal to a lower voltage and then controls that DC voltage precisely before feeding it into your board

Side note, if anyone is buying this to power something simple like a tv or modem and don't need it to turn on automatically and don't need all the fancy outlets and surge protection.

Then it's much cheaper to just get a battery. They sell for half the price and more actual power. Granted this is lead acid not lion like most of them.

However this is only 90 watt hours.

My point is you can get 150 watt hours for $59 on sale if your entire goal is a cheap way in an outage to power a lower power item.

However this takes a bigger load, though not for long.
