Has ubiquiti worked out all the kinks? Everytime I tried buying one of these, I heard stories about half baked software and all. I currently have a USG, is it worth upgrading? I am most interested in 1Gig IPS.
Just a heads up - buying through UI directly is not the same as buying through a reseller. I recently purchased a UDM-Base from their store and it was bad out of box. It has been like pulling teeth getting an RMA setup and now that it's all taken care of I am having to pay for shipping to them. Not a HUGE deal breaker but you are losing a lot of customer convenience by purchasing it direct. Just something to be aware of since this should factor into any potential deal savings.
This is kind of laughable. I know how it feels to miss out on a good deal on something you really wanted (this is slickdeals after all....) but to dismiss a brand based on them not contacting you directly about a sale is a bit much IMHO.

Pro has 2 x SFP+ ports, 8 x 1G ports vs 4 x 1G on regular, and no built-in AP. In other words, if your router/switch lives in the basement or a closet somewhere far from living spaces, while your wifi coverage is provided by standalone APs, with today's price parity Pro is the better buy. But in general it's an office environment device, not a home one.

Thanks for posting. I was just about to start looking to see if this was on sale today.
Just upgraded to gigabit speed and the the old USG can't handle that with IDS/IPS.
This will easily and has additional features.

ALSO: If you have ordered these products in the past from the UI store you are not eligible to buy them today. I assume it's the limit 1 restriction does not care if it's cyber Monday.

Sure would be nice if they reduced the regular Dream Machine too for SOHO users. The Pro version is rack-mount, loses some features, and adds others specifically for larger businesses.

now for a sale on G4 cameras...

great price here - would highly recommend purchasing. I run 2 in 2 different warehouses, they're solid. I've had more issues with my home unit but it also does a lot more than my USG, ERL, and other similar products at somewhat similar price points.

And the Doorbell! Which unfortunately is OOS atm.

Still was on the fence about the UDMP. This deal put me over the edge. Thx OP!

Does anyone know if these are compatible with your own UniFi Controller as a site? Or are you forced to use the interface on the UDM itself.

If the latter, it's a dealbreaker.

i setup the network in my brothers clinic in september with this and luckily enough of the bugs are worked out that everything works. the ui has some quirks especially with remote management stopping but a scheduled weekly reboot seems to prevent any bugs.

hardware wise, it's excellent and if i needed a new router/everything, i would consider buying this for my house.

Damn. Just installed the UDMP that I bought last month.

The NVR at $250 is tempting though since I'm going to have six G4 series cameras on Protect.
