Nope, the Best Buy one has a better 144hz display, faster 8 core Ryzen 7 there is also a second M2 open if you feel so inclined to upgrade more storage.

Great thanks. Couldn't find much spec on the display. Didn't really want to mess with returning one anyway
This is last year's chassis. It also doesn't support optimus so battery life will be trash
Yup and the ryzen ones are performing better. Best buy has the same config but 2020 model and ryzen 7 for $850. I would take that one over this any day for the extra $50.

And a local area BB has it in Used - Excellent condition for only $630. Argh...trying to hold myself back.
Comparing the processor in this machine vs the machine with the Ryzen 7 4800H linked above, the 4800H is the better of the two processors. Two extra cores/4 extra threads, a higher clock speed, and better IPC at the same general power requirement level.
As to the more general "Is Ryzen better than the Intel Core i3/5/7" question, answering that requires a large amount of whiskey and a Powerpoint slideshow. Both platforms have their good points, and it is easier to compare specific options than give an overarching answer. They're both pretty good as long as you've done some basic research to make sure you're gonna get what you're expecting.

I bought the open box one myself yesterday it's a excellent machine, no regrets. I have it when it's on battery to disable the Nvidia Gpu and battery life has been amazing over 7hrs of mixed use not gaming but using it as a normal work laptop it lasted over 7hrs and still had 19% before I called it a day.

Aside from that looks like a good deal.
This one worth picking up instead for $50 less?

The 1TB HDD, headset, and mouse are an extra discount when resold. Not sure if it's worth the hassle for a upgraded CPU though.
