Real-life drama at the beach ... Rammy's in trouble again ... apparently the wife doesn't like me taking pictures of other women

Amongst the ~200 photos I took last week at the beach, I snapped 3-4 pictures of some hotties that were walking up and down the beach. The wife took great offense to this and I thought it was playful at first but (as women are apt to do) an argument ensued which turned into her giving me the cold, silent treatment for the next 24 hours. She indicated I was "to take pictures of only her & the kids".

Disrespectful? Immature? In hindsight a little, but in her words "I'm married, I'm not dead". I wasn't peeping through a peephole at some ESPN hottie, I was taking a picture of someone strolling a few yards in front of me proudly displaying the goods that God gave her. Just how insecure can she be?

Is this a potential for a double standard? The wife had a massage at a day spa from a "young surfer dude" who was checking her out. Do I come out with the directive "no man can touch you except for me at any time". To take it to another level, shouldn't I be able to get lap dances (I don't btw) without feeling guilty. I agree that's extreme, but give me a break.

I thought things had cooled down the next day or two (makeup OTs) but then out of the blue the wife went through and deleted the pictures on my camera - which simply pissed me off. The following is all that's left. It was intended to be a humorous presentation to the lounge: (a) picture of hotties, (b) picture of wife holding up hand in front of camera, (c) picture of ocean as wife punched hubby in stomach.

I am with you on the looking part, but why the need to take a pic? That is where I am lost.
Eh ... a mistake in hindsight knowing it bothered her so much.

If I were your wife, I'd be pissed too that you're taking pictures of underaged girls. How sick!

So answer the question, you're single, right? Yep, I thought so.

Where did I say she was going to divorce him over 3 beach pictures? Stop trying to twist my words to fit your needs.

And if I really have to explain to you the difference between a seagull and a woman, then you simply need more help than I can provide.
It doesn't matter if I am single or not.. But I will tell you. I was married. I divorced her. I could have her back anytime I wanted to. She just asked me a few months ago, yet again, to take her back.

The point is that a random person walking by is just like a seagull. It's part of the beach.
It's not rational to be threatened by it. It's no different than photographing some senior citizens.. just random strangers he will never see again.

Mental pictures FTW. You can dress/undress them anyway you want.

Not crawling back and I gave her the cold shoulder as much as she did. At the time, I felt I had done nothing wrong or (grossly) disrespectful ... in fact after I noticed she had deleted the pictures (on the last day). I made a point to say "I'm pissed and will take a picture of whatever I damn well please". Fortunately or not, nothing photo-worthy came by.

This isn't (I don't think so) an issue about control.
Ok, that's good. I was just pointing out that someone was giving you bad advice, I'm glad you didn't do it.

I disagree though. This is a control issue for her. I think you responded well though. I wish you good luck. Just trying to offer you support, not start a pissing match.

The older I get, the more difficult I find the ability to remember it as well! Ranting

I find it odd, too, FTR. If I saw a guy doing this on the beach, it would seriously creep me out..
Seriously ... I'm sitting there with a camera taking pics of my kids. A hottie comes into view, I take a picture of her. Its not like I put on the video camera in slow mo and try to recreate the opening scenes of Baywatch. I didn't take the camera to the beach for the purpose of checking out the ladies, it was a natural byproduct if you will.

I don't necessarily agree with your wife's reaction, but I think you're an idiot for taking pictures of other women.

That's just plain odd and creepy laugh out loud
Iagree

If I were your wife I'd get mad too. Taking pictures of strange women you find attractive while on a family vacation is disrespectful. You should give your wife more respect than that. Looking is one thing but snapping a picture would not be the wisest thing to do.

On the flip side.....
You're lucky none of the "hotties" caught you snapping pictures of them! If I saw some weird guy on the beach taking pictures of me, you better believe I'd say or do something not so nice!

Sorry your in the dog house op! Women are complicated creatures! Something as little as taking a picture of an attractive women can make a lady feel hurt that her husband is looking at other women, it bothers some more than others. I suggest being the perfect husband for a while, you know, little presents, maybe make her a sandwich! Good luck, I'm sure she'll get over it sooner than later, after all you did marry her and not some other hottie you found on the beach, that's gotta count for something!

If Rammy saw pics of male total strangers taken by his wife I don't think he would throw a hissy fit about it. She married him knowing what he was like. Its not like he has suddenly become this sex starved pervert that wants to jump anything with boobies. She crossed a big line of personal space and privacy by deleting the pics. If the poor guy is having fun doing something that really is pretty innocious let the poor man be. There maybe things she does that he doesnt particularly like but he lets it go without saying anything.
