Real-life drama at the beach ... Rammy's in trouble again ... apparently the wife doesn't like me taking pictures of other women

24,862 1,948 July 22, 2009 at 10:01 AM in Cameras
Amongst the ~200 photos I took last week at the beach, I snapped 3-4 pictures of some hotties that were walking up and down the beach. The wife took great offense to this and I thought it was playful at first but (as women are apt to do) an argument ensued which turned into her giving me the cold, silent treatment for the next 24 hours. She indicated I was "to take pictures of only her & the kids".

Disrespectful? Immature? In hindsight a little, but in her words "I'm married, I'm not dead". I wasn't peeping through a peephole at some ESPN hottie, I was taking a picture of someone strolling a few yards in front of me proudly displaying the goods that God gave her. Just how insecure can she be?

Is this a potential for a double standard? The wife had a massage at a day spa from a "young surfer dude" who was checking her out. Do I come out with the directive "no man can touch you except for me at any time". To take it to another level, shouldn't I be able to get lap dances (I don't btw) without feeling guilty. I agree that's extreme, but give me a break.

I thought things had cooled down the next day or two (makeup OTs) but then out of the blue the wife went through and deleted the pictures on my camera - which simply pissed me off. The following is all that's left. It was intended to be a humorous presentation to the lounge: (a) picture of hotties, (b) picture of wife holding up hand in front of camera, (c) picture of ocean as wife punched hubby in stomach.

If she snapped pics of hot guys yummy on the beach while you were with her and you knew about it, would you let her keep them on her camera? Wouldn't you have wanted to delete them too? What wife wants her husband to have pics of other women saved on his camera? This is the real world not Hugh Hefner's.
Question: do I have the right to go through her phone/PDA/email and delete contact information of men that aren't work-related? Hmmm...

How is this thread still alive? That's a whole two days and it's not even a "this person's personal thread that they bump every ten minutes themselves" ...

Not delete but question her for sure. If she has nothing to hide she will be fine with it.

Well ... I wonder if the above question should start off another thread that would rival this one? I claimed double-standard in the OP, it just took me 9 pages to get to a "gotcha".

... but my wife didn't question me before deleting those photos ... if she had asked, I probably would have (to avoid a fight or upon realization that it did bother her that much).

Dating in college is way different than marriage. Who didn't have pics of hot guys or girls when they were young?
Looking (not staring) is fine, taking pics isn't. Certain things should change when you are married, out of respect for each other.
Doesn't sound like you are married. It's not about feeling threatened. We just want to know our spouse cares enough to not need to have pics of hot strangers.

Since you asked this twice, I will respond.. I wouldn't care. I would not feel threatened. Never really worried about stuff like that. If you're with a cheater, it's going to happen. Trying to stop them from looking at other people, etc won't prevent them from cheating if they are so inclined. I wouldn't be offended at all, but I guess I am comfortable with myself. Don't feel threatened if a girlfriend talks to a more desirable guy and he hits on her.. again, if it happens it happens.. it's better to show that you are self confident and secure instead of trying to prevent it.

I dated a girl in college that had posters of shirtless, muscle bound men all over her dorm room. I thought it was funny. I wasn't threatened that she'd dump me for some steriod freak.

What would you have done if she did what you did? Would you have deleted the pics after the arguement you had?

By the way I did read through alot of this thread, it is just way to long to read the whole thing, but I did find what I read interesting.

He divorced his wife. She really wants him back too but he doesn't want her.
