Note, the Silver/Black one on the specs does not list wifi nor in the title mentions the STICH app. So it might not include these features.

Why does cleanliness of water matter when your food is vacuum sealed in a plastic bag? It doesn't touch the water...
Cold water comes from the city and is clean, drinkable water.

The hot water from your tap sat in a hot water heater and could have collected additional minerals or metals along the way. I've always been told to never drink hot water from a tap.

In some areas overseas they have two faucets on the sink for this reason. The methods for making and storing hot water vary, and in these areas it is only for washing up.

Well, poop, I bought the 800 watt one yesterday. Suppose I should ask is the 300 watts extra worth it? I assumed if one started with hot water (In my house is set to 130 or so) I shouldn't have any issues with the little guy but...?

Yes, cancel the other one and buy this. It's worth it for few more bucks.

I think they must've put this on sale due to the overwhelming response on the other two 800W and 1100 (which are both sold out) models . The price on this model appears to be the best of all 3, considering this is still $8 less than the sold out 1100 W model and only l$13 more than the sale price of the 800W one; which makes this a sweeter price IMO, although I wish this one came in black too. For 300W more on paper, I expect this to heat up the water faster. Ordered one, will see

I wonder what the difference between two 1100w units is other than the finish.

Guys, the other 1100W model appears to be also back in stock for $65, just updated the post.
Both look the same externally except for color, hmm

Edit: Appears the white one can be app controlled(STITCH?), but the black one does not mention so in the product description

Yeah, couldn't care less about the finish so I'll go with white and return Anova I got yesterday.

If I return a monoprice branded product do I have to pay shipping? Their website isn't clear. I'm guessing I do.

Ideally you shouldn't start off with hot water from what I've heard. Apparently cold water is cleaner

You don't have to pay return shipping if item received is defective, otherwise yes. Both of these have 30 day period for return and 1 year replacement warranty in case of failure(Attaching chat log with monoprice to the post)
