If you are not planning to pay the monthly service stay away from these! They are awful as a stand-alone device as all the nicer features are pay to use.. forget a couple seconds of video, you don't even get a picture of what triggered a notification whenever there's movement!

Trust me... hard pass if you don't plan to pay the monthly service!

While above is true, this is a good price. If you need a monitored alarm system, Ring has the cheapest on the market(that I know of) $10 monthly or $100 yearly for the Protect Plus Plan. In addition to the alarm monitoring, any cameras you have in your house hold get all the features with 90 days recording and lifetime warranty as long as you keep the protect plan. Solid deal for $100 a year.

I don't think there is an internal battery on this unit as this doorbell is designed for wired. You might be confused with other model.

After all this talk I decided to finally get a new ring. Ended up getting a new ring 3 off Craigslist. Has a removable battery so we can always change it

Not sure. Decided to stick with ring. Been using it since the device came out and has served me well. I pay the 30 a year for it. Was considering the nest hello but the 60 or 70 a year is ridiculous

I also see notes about underpowered power supply. I changed mine the day I got the unit to a higher amperage one. Thing still failed

With Ring Alarm Protect Plus and doorbells/cameras, this is a really good deal. $8.33 a month (If you pay annually) gets you police and fire protection as well as unlimited camera cloud storage. Ring support has always been good for me. This is a inexpensive way to dip your toe in Ring ecosystem. I also like that they have integrated MyQ Garage Sensors in the app as well. Going to buy one to replace the doorbell in my garage, since i've been needing a camera in there.

I have the Ring subscription, am I eligible to get a replacement for that battery failure? I don't know why people are talking about it if there is a way to get a replacement

Do you have the Ring Protect Plus ($100/year) plan? In any case, it never hurts to chat/call Ring support to see what they can do.

I just chatted with Ring support. As long as the certified refurbished devices are purchased directly from Ring/Amazon and are added to an account that already has Ring Protect Plus then they are covered by the warranty.
