I have this trash can... Great deal, especially w the 10 yr warranty and you also have the Costco lifetime satisfaction guarantee backing it in case the shock blows and you'd rather not deal w simple human support.

I see mention of the fact it's specific for 15-gallon bags.. Although a bit cumbersome, and you have to do the slightest stretch at the top of the bags..13-gallon bags work just fine. I used the sample bags but went right back to kirkland/costco 13gall bags thereafter. Never an issue.

You could put a small box at the bottom of the can to essentially shorten the length.

SimpleHuman makes great stuff, but in this case, I couldn't justify the high price ticket on it either. Although I have picked one up the automatic version on clearance at BB&B for $40 before for my parents and it's held up well.

Ultimately, I went with this Kohler one and have been very happy with it. Also it has the separate inner bucket you'd be looking for. Aaannnd it uses standard 13 gal size bags. Smilie

Smoking hot deal on the simple human trash can. Too bad they use 15 gallon trash bags.

How about the "Brondell Swash CS1000 Bidet"? Anybody compared this with Bio Bidet USPA 6800?

Crazy deal on the simplehuman. Last year I got the 45 liter on Amazon for $130 and a couple of the 4.5 for $20 each. Don't know about 15 gallon bags though, often see deals for 13.

I bought two of these - we have been using the bio bidet and one just started leaking. I contact Biobidet - the warranty was up. I contacted Costco, they gave me a UPS return slip (to biobidet) and refunded my money.

We have a Brondell and it seems better in terms of quality just my 2 cents. Its a good deal, deeply discounted but they do go on sale periodically at Costco.

Shoot, that is an odd size. Most kitchen bags are 13gal. Costco does sell 15gal bags, but I'd hate to be reliant on one store for bags, in case they ever decide to discontinue them in the future.

edit: Correction: They're actually 18gal bags @ $14.49 + $3 shipping for 70 bags.

Are 13gal bags long enough, or does dropping heavy items into them result in the bottom of the bag dropping down (and pulling the top of the bag into the can with it)?

It does leave space at the bottom. My gf and I (no kids) don't pitch heavy items often, but it's only been an issue once in two years..and it's my own fault really as a hefty black 40 gall bag would've been much better. We were clearing out the fridge from expired condiments and other items. The weight of glass jars, and other nearly full items was too much and made the top slip. And I ended up filling two full bags and not even putting the second one in the can for clearing out the fridge further. Wrong bag/usage for the job at hand.

95 to 99% of the time.. You'll be fine.. Unless you're planning some heavy duty, often practiced trash dispensing routines w this receptacle.

Glad to see them selling Greenworks 80v lawn equipment. Love my Kobalt 80v stuff, and the batteries can be easily modified to fit Kobalt.

my house is all hansgrohe but this is not a good faucet. it does not have an aerator so the water will splash a lot easier.
