Doesn't seem to be shipping right away (mine was ETA of Jan 7-8).
My total was $459 + $28.69 (6.25% Tax), so $487.69. for the UNLOCKED version of the Google Pixel 4a 5G.

Use promo code HOLIDAY2DAY at checkout for free 2-day shipping.

Sign up for monthly Google One 2TB plan (9.99/mo) to get 10% google store credit ($45.90) from this purchase. Just remember to cancel the Google One subscription after you get your credit in a month.
Edit: Some people have said it may require subscribing to Google One for 2 months. Check out their comments

Also opted to trade in my old Pixel 2 128GB for $175 refund/credit.
Edit: This portion of the deal seems to be dead now, so YMMV. Checked Pixel 2 128G trade-in value on Dec 11 and it's down to $47. It was $175 on Dec 10.

https://store.google.com/US/product/pixel_4a_5g - NLA

Edit: A couple people have pointed out that other stores (Amazon, Best Buy, B&H Photo) have it at the same price of $459 (some without tax). As far as I can tell these don't offer an option to trade in old phone for credit, but if you aren't looking to do that, solid options.
Best Buy [bestbuy.com] ($459.99)
Amazon [amazon.com]
B&H Photo [bhphotovideo.com] (w/ free case) $499.00
Target [target.com](full price $499, but $40 GC)

If you bought this phone at a higher price recently, try contacting the store you bought from for an after-the-fact price match/refund. Some people have reported success in the comments.

Check the 5G rollout in your area.
If it's non existent, get the 4a.
The difference between 4a and 4a 5g is not just 5g. 4a 5g has faster cpu, bigger screen, bigger battery, better camera with wide lens. Google's naming is confusing making it sound like it's just 5g version of 4a but it's a much better phone overall.

4a is a joke unless you want tiny phone! Hard pass.

tmobile's 5g is like everywhere now, but even without 5g, this is a much better phone than the 4a.

I purchased it with the recent $250 pixel trade in deal, just waiting for the trade in to be accepted. For that price it is a very good deal. I still think the phone is too large, I think Pixel 2 was just about perfect size. But the battery life is far better than P2 and the screen is outstanding. Huge improvement overall.

I am with Mint / tmobile and this is correct. However, I run a quick test and it seems there is hardly any difference in speed between 4g and 5g in my area.

Guys try this: I started online chat with target guys and asked him to match the price with Amazon and Google. He told me Target offered $40 gift card so can't match the price but to retain a customer he is price matching along with $40 gift card. I pulled the trigger immediately.
______
Chat url: https://contactus.target.com/Cont...000000NaNX

Thanks a bunch! I got on chat and got the price match. Before placing the order, the chat rep agreed to price match with Amazon. I then placed the order. The rep said that upon checking the order, I was already getting a Red card discount and thus paying the lowest amount. But since he'd already agreed to the price match, he would go ahead and apply the discount.

So it cost $499 - 23 Red card discount - 40 price match - 40 gift card + 36 tax = 432!

Just $40 off? This is a joke. What do this company think they are Apple. This company is drunk with greediness. They already on the plan to eliminate unlimited free photo storage in google photo. What are they going to charge next google maps?..

Me comparing pixel 3 xl, pixel 4a 5g and pixel 5 in case anyone cares

Pixel 4a 5g - length not much shorter than the 3 xl when you account for the chin on the 3xl. Width is noticeable smaller. 4a5g fits in 1 hand better (I am med size gloves), but the keyboard is a bit more squish too so I've noticed more typos when texting fast but should be easy to adapt overtime. Screen seems better on the 3xl, higher rez and such. Even though 4a5g is plastic it doesn't feel cheap. Extra ram and memory is nice, no lag so far. Slower processor is not noticeable but I haven't played games yet. Battery life is much improved, despite similar battery sizes. Overall I'd say just a lateral move or a slight upgrade compared to the 3xl. I really like it great bang for buck. Only thing I miss is the wireless charging (c'mon google how much can 2 could cost?). Having headphone jack again and still fingerprint is nice during a pandemic and wearing mask

Pixel 5 - better build but feels similar to 4a5g in hand, aside from. Power button tbh. Slightly smaller but not tiny. 90hz is only noticeable when scrolling fast through IG or FB, etc. Does have a bit more RAM, wireless/reverse wireless charging, and water resistant. Otherwise does not really feel like a worthy $200 premium over the 4a5g.
Great review, I am looking at the 4a5g because I do not like the iPhone xr I got a few weeks ago. The biggest issue I have with the xr is the screen is narrow. I had a pixel 3a xl before the iPhone. So, by the sound of your review I will not be happy with the 4a5g either. The narrow screens squish the text on webpages making it much harder to read.

iPhone XR - 6.1-inch LCD, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, True Tone, 1792 x 828 pixels (326 ppi), 1,400:1 contrast ratio, 79.0% screen-to-body ratio. 150.9x75.7x8.3 mm

Pixel 4a 5G - 6.2-inch (158 mm) display, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, FHD+ (1080 x 2340) OLED at 413 ppi

If that helps. I haven't physically held a XR in my hand. There is a VERY faint rumor of google possibly releasing a flagship in March-April but it is unreliable rumors so far so take it with a grain of salt.

It is the same price at amazon and best buy.

Target has it at full price but is offering a $40 gift card.

Here are the links:

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/goog...Id=6431964

As an FYI, it is much better to buy directly from google. Any warranty issues you will get advanced exchange and priority overnight. Of you buy via 3rd party you will have to send in your phone before they repair/replace it.

I traded in my P2 (5in display) with the 4a 5G (6.2in display). At first I thought the 4a 5G display was too large but after using the 4a 5G for a week, I don't think I can go back to a 5in display phone. I agree that the battery life on the 4a 5G is significantly better than the P2.

Debating between the regular 4a vs 5G for my mom

She mostly uses it to take pictures , someone help me decide .
The 5G has a bigger screen, added wide angle lens, and better processor/graphic specs. I'm eyeing the 5G, but not for 5G service.

FYI not sure if mentioned before but it's 409 at BB if carrier activated upon purchase. Combine with 5% off cashback through Chase and Paypal Key and that seems like a pretty decent deal!
