The keying loop on this flash drive is just a bit of unsubstantial plastic. Don't buy this if you plan on using it on a keyring. Mine broke within a matter of weeks.
I bought the 128GB and the first thing I did was test the speeds.

Real world speeds - Read Speed: 396.2 MB/s. Write Speed: 62.5 MB/s
or keep the serial # on google sheet?

Amazon has sandisk usb c 128gb for 19.99

https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-12...+c+&sr=8-3

Or the newer version for 24.99. 256gb is 39.99

The Amazon site shows the read speed for this 128GB drive as 400Mbps and 300Mbps for the 256GB drive. The two smaller ones are 200Mbps.

How is this thing in terms of longevity? Does it overheat like the sandisk drives do/did?

I bought one of these a year ago to use for extended storage in my nvidia shield. Died after about 10 months. Impossible to warranty it unless you keep the packaging because that's the only place the serial number is located. Who keeps the packaging from a usb stick...

While the Amazon product description says 400Mbps, the Samsung product details, as well as the Samsung webpage for this drive itself both says 300Mbps for the 128GB model (MUF-128AB/AM).

FWIW, it looks like these drives are the same prices on the Samsung site [samsung.com].

Thanks for the heads up. I'll make sure to keep the packaging. How's the performance on nvidia shield? I'm planning to use it on smart TV/android tv for additional storage.

these are the best value thumbdrives on the market imo. they dont get hot, and they have excellent random read/write speeds. they are great for operating system drives, like linux on USB or added storage for android.
