Can also confirm gift card purchase works. Enrolled my cards in GPay, activated the offer. Once activated, there's a button in GPay that says "use online" - I clicked on that. It just opened up target.com in my browser. Added a $51 Target gift card for email delivery, checked out with the linked card in GPay, got a notification within minutes.

When you say 'checked out with the linked card,' did you have to enter that card at checkout on target.com? There's no google pay option, right?

What kind of gift card? It looks like everyone is buying Target gift cards but I'm curious about third-party ones.

For instance if you purchase a Walmart gift card in store it will trigger card-related offers however if you purchase online it's processed by a different company and the charge doesn't reflect as Walmart and therefore does not trigger such offers.

I'm only seeing where people have purchased Target gift cards online successfully with this deal and would love to see a data point on something like an eBay gift card purchased online from target.

The deal itself says you don't have to use Google pay. You just have to use the enrolled card.

Try restarting the app? I got it around ~7mins after ordering. The transaction also showed up under Recent Activity in GPay

I purchased a $50 Home Depot e-gift card and got the notification instantly from Google Pay that I had earned cashback.

Took about 15 mins but I now see a congrats message when I restarted the app. $21 is pending for 30 days before it is available.
