Do NOT use Paypal or anything other than the "Credit Card" option during checkout folks. Using any other form of checkout even funding it via the same credit card is not the same. Make sure you use the same credit card that you enrolled on your Gpay account too.

The referral reward is a separate reward to the cash back offered if you spend $50 or more at Target. You can get both.
I'm well aware. I got $105 on my account today. Plus another $105 each on my wife's and my second account.

The person was asking about transferring someone $ but it seemed from their wording like they already did the Target purchase first. If that's the case and they didn't do NFC in-store for the Target purchase than they won't get the referral bonus as well.

You can only get both by the referral bonus being triggered on your first transfer/purchase.

Clearly stated in the terms.

I got $21 reward, but I have to provide last 4 digit of my SSN and pay $0.32 ($21*1.5%) fees to use that reward?
I think the fee is if you want to pay out your reward to a card. That's what it says for me. But, it says no fee if you link your bank account. Kinda like how it is for PayPal balances.

That's correct. Made $105 on my 2nd account which has no banking info so I had to link my debit card to transfer out. I lost 1.5% on the transfer. Well worth it.

Citi double cash didn't work for me. I wonder if it just takes time. Double cash card has always been slow to post. Visa debit card went through instantly. I did send Google an email about the double cash card (which shows eligible and enrolled) but doubtful I'll get a quick response.
Same. Did mine yesterday. No reward.

Got 2 referral rewards and the target reward (which is still processing). But then I referred my wife but didn't get the referral reward. Not sure why...
Same thing happened to me. My theories are:
1. disqualified for same billing address (doubtful as I see other people successfully referring their spouses)
2. Did Target $21 offer first before doing $10 payment for referral (I didn't but I read that's the case).

#2. I did this w/ three accounts in the same house.

If your first purchase was Target and it wasn't in-store via NFC it will not trigger the referral bonus. It's in the terms.

I understand the allure of easy money, but you are paying a lot more than you are getting. Why does google need to know your card and bank account transactions? They could offer $1000 and I wouldn't do it, even with a dormant card/bank acct.

Google is the do evil company.

This is very annoying. Tried two times (48hrs) different cards and still no cashback. I don't understand why its not triggering. both times I purchased $50 ebay gift cards.

You do realize Google isn't the only company doing this right?

I'd be willing to bet you are already giving this info up and you don't even realize it. Do you always read the 200 page terms & conditions when you sign up for things?

Probably not.

No, that isn't true. I downloaded the app, created profile without any referral. Placed a Target order for $50 gift card, received $21 cash back from the Target offer, went back to my profile and put in a referral code and sent $10 to someone, received $21 referral bonus, referred relatives and repeated the process. Your referral has to send $10 to someone for the first time or make a purchase in store using GPay, that will satisfy the requirement for the $21 bonus, max 3 referrals.

And it was probably lost since the thread is so big, but I linked to an article 3 years ago...when Google was getting 70% of all US credit transactions already.....
Not to mention, how do you think Venmo/Pay{al/Cash app works? It's all the same, we allow them "hold" a balance for us in their respective apps/accounts.
