Not sure how many folks would have read this but Calling it out if it helps people-
GPAY is using a cash back site R-10 and one more to track your credit card or debit card transactions. Some of those CB sites already do this but GPay is presenting it as their feature. Those sites don't support Discover or Target Red Card, hence no deal on that. For insights portion they are using an aggregator service known as Plaid that is part of Visa now. You have to link your bank and credit card accounts(using your online banking credentials, and yes they will store it). They will pull all your transactions from those linked bank and card accounts. This includes not only your spendings but all the direct deposits and paycheck you get into those accounts. Now, you know it. It is up to you what all you want to share with them and whether to use it or not.
Yeah this is a nightmare from a privacy standpoint. Plaid is HORRIBLE and should be avoided at all costs.

On the main tab after my Target purchase I saw "Target" show up as a business. I clicked that and it showed me my $50 transaction and then my reward amount. I didn't see it anywhere until I did that. I also had to restart the app a few times. Very clunky app in my opinion - trying to do too much.

Citi double cash didn't work for me. I wonder if it just takes time. Double cash card has always been slow to post. Visa debit card went through instantly. I did send Google an email about the double cash card (which shows eligible and enrolled) but doubtful I'll get a quick response.

I don't see Target under "Businesses" on the man tab.

Like most Google apps, the UI is trash.

Hub and I referred each other and each ordered a $50 Target gift card. So breakdown:
I spent $60 (Target gift card + $10 to him). Got back $21 + $21 + 10= $52
He spent same.
So for $120 spent we get back into our bank account $104 and still have $100 in Target.
Profit $84
How did you get 2 x $21.

(I just signed into the new Gpay app with an account that I used google pay with before .) In the Gpay app I tab on my icon at the upper right corner, then tap the 3-dot at that corner, and tab "Referral code", it allows me to enter a code to the blank in the middle of page. Does that mean I can still be counted as "Referred" by someone?
I didn't get my bonus. referred by my son, reinstalled app from the link provided. sent him $10, no bonus. I followed your steps. There was a referral code in there for me to share. There was a message saying my acct is not eligible for referrals from friends. I can still refer my friends by sharing my code.

Didn't work for me despite following all steps and fulfilling all criteria. Sent a brief message to them after the automated help system threw me to leave a message.
