Allotments are per year!
In case you are not familiar with it, there is a good market for this type of plan.
Not monthly, total per year!

I didn't notice this asked but might have missed it
Is there any way to get a price adjustment from the $40 deal if card hasn't been activated yet? Or do you just return it and rebuy?

Tracfone has 21 million subscribers. Verizon just bought it for $6.3 billion. So, someone thinks TF is valuable.
I would like to know if support for the ATT SIMs will continue if Verizon owns Tracfone?

Tracfone has saved me so much money over the years. I am a light data user and don't talk for hours on my phone. The average cell phone bill in the US is around $80-$100 a month. I pay about $5 a month and my plan meets all of my needs. I recently purchased a brand new 2020 iPhone SE from tracfone for $130 that I love. If you consider that as part of a monthly cost (if you typically roll the cost of a phone into your 24 month contract with Verizon) then I guess my total is about $11 a month.

Does anyone know if you can get incoming texts without an extra fee while roaming internationally (in Asia) with tracfone ?
Only if you have a pocket cellular internet device that you can use as a Bluetooth, WiFi, or hotspot.

Perfect if you were looking to take an old and use it to track your vehicle, get speed reports, etc. Easy enough to hard wire a charger and tuck the phone in the dashboard somewhere.

Gee, what do I do with my plan that has "0" GB per year? Along with surely millions of others!

In fact, I have 2 different plans that have no data. Total cost $10/year. Had them for years.

You get what you pay for.
Burner phones for the 2 different gf so the Mrs don't catch you....? 😉

Not sure what you meant here? I do not want data .. just texts over cellular roaming
If I have this sim card in my phone and I'm roaming in say Singapore, would I get incoming texts on my phone there or have "No Service" at all ?

Where it said "365 Days of Service"?
Check the picture of the eBay listing, which says "reloaded with annual plan"

I get these lines for emergency phones, small kids, or for international guests. Most of the time the spare phones are just used at home for Netflix, Hulu, etc. And worst case, adding minutes or data is still cheap.

Of course, there hasn't been much travel or movement lately.
I hear you. I laughed but to be fair, these can be put to good use. I've been wanting to change my phone number for months now because I get so much spam texts etc. Haven't had a chance to do it because its tied to so many different accounts etc. Just bought this to transition to a new number. Guess i have a year now to change all my accounts to new phone number.

Thanks OP! Bought two. For everyone asking, I buy these for my kids' phones. I've taught them to not watch videos or download anything large while on LTE data. This card will last them about 2-3 months which means I'll spend about $7/month on each phone! The only hassle is that when they run out of data, I have to do the following:

1. Activate the SIM card and get a new number online
2. Port my kids' phone number to the new SIM card
3. Call support if I run into any snags.

Here is a chat response from Tranfone about "how long we have to activate these?" Marlene is the agent on Tracfone side.

Me: How long do I have to activate a prepaid srmatphone plan before the credit expires?
Marlene: You have one year to use the plan.
Me: oh, do you mean once I purchase it today, the latest I can activate it is December of 2021 before the credit in the prepaid package expires?
Marlene: That is correct.

I have no problem with Verizon sims so far. Current service expires Oct 2026 and just ordered two more
My service with a locked Verizon phone is no problem. The problem is that activation would not work with the loaded SIM, probably because Verizon had the phone listed as in use with another of their SIMS. I lost the service on the Tracfone loaded SIM when a customer service agent got involved in the activation. I had to use a new SIM without service loaded. I think Verizon has problems with phones and SIMs that were not activated together. Can't trade SIMs between phones, especially during activation.
