This has 8GB soldered + 8GB DIMM Module. You can replace the 8GB module with a 32GB one to get up to 40GB of total memory. the 8GB + 8GB portion of the 32GB module will still run in Dual Channel (Flex Mode).
The Display is 300 nits Glossy with 100% sRGB Color gamut
One USB 4.0 Type-C with TB 4 and one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C Port. Both the ports support Charging, Display Out via DisplayPort 1.4 and Data.
The Lenovo Active Pen is included and like the premium Yoga 9i model, it has a Pen holder inside the chassis where you can store the pen and it will charge as well.
Before cancelling, first do a reassessment of your requirements. HP Envy x360 13 deal you're referring is also posted by me and I think that was configured with 400 nits display option. That will give you better outdoor visibility than this. HP Envy x360 13 is also slightly lighter and smaller than this Laptop, around 2.8 lbs vs 3.3 lbs on this one.
Now regarding performance, 4700U is a very powerful processor if you are planning to run applications which can take advantages of all the cores. For example, large excel number calculations, Video Encoding, rendering workloads, Encryption and Decryption, Compression , Huge Code Compilation etc. will run better than i7-1165G7. Also, the latest release of Adobe Premiere Pro 14.4 beta has added support for VEGA integrated graphics and combined with 8 Core CPU + VEGA 7 Graphics, now the performance is close to Intel Offerings which normally had an advantages due to Intel QuickSync support in Premier Pro. Check the 1165G7 vs Ryzen 4000 review in YouTube Channel Hardware Unboxed. So, if you're planning to use applications of those kinds, may be the 4700U based Envy is a better choice.
Now, regarding Intel Tiger Lake i7-1165G7...it has almost 15% better single threaded performance, when configured with 28W TDP dynamically. That leads to advantage in lightly threaded applications like Web Browsers, JavaScript performance, normal Office documentation works, Adobe based Photo editing apps etc. Also, the Iris XE Graphics with 96 EU is almost equivalent to a dedicated MX350 graphics card and it is 10% to 20% faster than VEGA 7 based on the type of games and applications.
Along with that, you will get Thunderbolt 4 support which may be crucial to lot of users, for connecting tons of devices like multiple 4K displays, Docks, Hubs etc + the external Graphics card dock with a dedicated Desktop card for gaming.
Lenovo is so confusing.
So they have the yoga series which I thought was exclusively 2 in 1s then they release the yoga slim debunking that theory.
They also decide to release the thinkbooks but now we have a yoga thinkbooks?
As well as yoga thinkpads?
I mean why not just call this a flex?
Jeez Lenovo save us the pain with all these weird and confusing naming strategies.
Beware that Thinkbook is not Thinkpad. ThinkBook series are supposed to fill the gap between the consumer-oriented IdeaPad line and the business-centric ThinkPads

Yes. This is mainly targeted for small Businesses and for people who want attractive looking device like the consumer lineups with Business features. Normally ThinkBook laptops are based on a middle or higher-mid range consumer models but adds more number of ports, better security features etc.
This particular model is more or less based on Yoga 7i model but it has far more number of USB ports, HDMI port, user upgradable Ram and weights a bit higher.

Crazy how cheap these have gotten. I remember the first and second gen yogas were $1200 at bestbuy for i7's and more if you wanted a 512gb ssd or 16gb of ram

Flex is their budget 2-in-1 whereas Yoga normally refers to premium models, whether Business or Consumer product. And Yoga Slim nomenclature is only used outside USA where they're trying to portray YOGA as premium series of Laptops. In USA, that is called IdeaPad Slim series and no Non 2-in-1 Device is called Yoga.
Plenty ports, Thunderbolt 4, twice the SSD, User upgradable Ram, over 15% single threaded performance and almost 20% better Graphics performance. Also, nice premium feature where the pen can be put inside the chassis when not using it.

I requested hp to cancel the order while it still was in initial order stage but they told me it's too late to cancel now and shipped anyway

Better screen (300nits) and upgradeable ram are 2 easily noticeable differences. I am sure there are other differences.
4700u 16gb ram 256 GB SSD
Not sure if it really was a good deal
