Unless you need the smaller footprint (and probably less weight) of a 13", this is better in so many ways otherwise.
Yeah kinda like the build and design

4700u is worthy contender to 11gen i7 hopefully

I think this is definitely better than a flex, that's why.

Better screen (300nits) and upgradeable ram are 2 easily noticeable differences. I am sure there are other differences.
The flex pro also carried the yoga name in some places and was bracketed above the regular flex. I agree the naming structure is a jumbled mess.

I requested hp to cancel the order while it still was in initial order stage but they told me it's too late to cancel now and shipped anyway
Before cancelling, first do a reassessment of your requirements. HP Envy x360 13 deal you're referring is also posted by me and I think that was configured with 400 nits display option. That will give you better outdoor visibility than this. HP Envy x360 13 is also slightly lighter and smaller than this Laptop, around 2.8 lbs vs 3.3 lbs on this one.

Now regarding performance, 4700U is a very powerful processor if you are planning to run applications which can take advantages of all the cores. For example, large excel number calculations, Video Encoding, rendering workloads, Encryption and Decryption, Compression , Huge Code Compilation etc. will run better than i7-1165G7. Also, the latest release of Adobe Premiere Pro 14.4 beta has added support for VEGA integrated graphics and combined with 8 Core CPU + VEGA 7 Graphics, now the performance is close to Intel Offerings which normally had an advantages due to Intel QuickSync support in Premier Pro. Check the 1165G7 vs Ryzen 4000 review in YouTube Channel Hardware Unboxed. So, if you're planning to use applications of those kinds, may be the 4700U based Envy is a better choice.
Now, regarding Intel Tiger Lake i7-1165G7...it has almost 15% better single threaded performance, when configured with 28W TDP dynamically. That leads to advantage in lightly threaded applications like Web Browsers, JavaScript performance, normal Office documentation works, Adobe based Photo editing apps etc. Also, the Iris XE Graphics with 96 EU is almost equivalent to a dedicated MX350 graphics card and it is 10% to 20% faster than VEGA 7 based on the type of games and applications.
Along with that, you will get Thunderbolt 4 support which may be crucial to lot of users, for connecting tons of devices like multiple 4K displays, Docks, Hubs etc + the external Graphics card dock with a dedicated Desktop card for gaming.

Either give 2 free slots or solder both and give lpddr4x memory. Upgrading the ram with a single slot is pointless because only the 1st 8gb of the single slot will run in dual channel.....

Returning feels like hassle. I guess hp won 😅

Suryasis, I ordered the ThinkBook 13s Gen 2 (13") Intel that you posted around Dec 10th & got it for $769.05 from workplace perk. It hasn't shipped yet (typical Lenovo). How does that compare with this one?

If you don't need a touchscreen or 2-in-1 functionality, you're paying a weight penalty and screen penalty getting this. For a straight up laptop I'd prefer a matte screen.

DDR4-3200 MHz kills the performance of the integrated graphics and processor is slower than even Ryzen 5. Thunderbolt 4 though is a benefit if you need to connect to multiple external monitors or other high speed peripherals. You need LP-DDR4 4xxxx memory to benefit from Tiger Lakes video performance and bet on Intel improving their video drivers.

Actually it's already delivered since they told me not to refuse the order as it will cause additional delay and asked me to request a return once delivered.

Wondering whether I should return or keep it anyway
Are they gonna charge you a return/restocking fee???

This seems like a good deal for the specs and seemingly solid build quality. This same model is $769 through my employer's EPP. Really tempting, but then we just got a new Ryzen Thinkpad a few weeks ago... Need to resist... Smilie

I just ordered an HP Envy x360 w/ an AMD Ryzen 5 4500U w/ 8 gigs of RAM a couple days ago for around $700 from Costco (90 day returns, 3 years warranty).

How does this compare to the Lenovo?
