Just a thought to anyone brand new to action cameras: if you're unsure you will even use a GoPro, perhaps consider one of the many knockoffs to try before investing in a GoPro. I say this while owning and endorsing a GoPro 8 and 7, but I've used them in mud, scuba, and tropical showers among others and would buy them again. Costco carried an ExploreOne action camera at around $30 in store, and I just saw one still in stock at a store I was visiting last month. There are many options online. They won't give you the same reliability, features, software usability, support and many others that a GoPro will, but that doesn't matter if you're not going to actually make use of it. I know plenty of people who have bought GoPros as expensive paperweights because they thought it seemed like something they would need, but their lifestyle was better suited to regular camera. If you are going to use it though, this is a great deal on a great action cam.

and yet last time the 9 had a slickdeal people were saying it had issues and wasn't worth it

Does anyone know if Costco price adjusts twice? I bought at $279.99 and already price adjusted the first time it dropped to $269.99.

Edit: They do. I went to the store and got the additional price adjustment. They said as long as you are within 30 days of purchase date.

I already have the Max. Is that also missing anything from v8?

How long ago was this? Within 30 days yes. Call them. They make some exceptions because of COVID-19 going on. Worst case of within 90 days you can return it and rebuy. (Don't abuse)

They do. You can check the website there is a way to request a refund there, or in store.

HERO9 Black Bundle at gopro.com is $299; $349.98 w/ 1-year Subscription to GoPro.
Sadly cannot just get the HERO9 for $299, have to opt in for the subscription deal with $349.98.
