If you bought 3x Xbox Live (XBL) Gold cards, make sure you do not enable recurring billing when redeeming each card because it will add a month each to your XBL service time. The system limits you to 36 months total.
For example, redeeming 2x XBL Gold cards /w recurring billing gives you 26 months. The system will not allow you to redeem the 3rd XBL Gold card.
YMMV, but a Microsoft (MS) rep was able to get around this limitation. Here are the steps he took:
- I converted my 26 month XBL Gold into 26 months of Gamers' Pass Unlimited (GPU).
- Since I already have GPU, it converts the 3rd 12 month XBL Gold card into 4 months of GPU, for a total of 30 months of GPU.
- The MS rep then manually adjusted my GPU subscription from 30 months to 36 months.

Edit: I had the gamepass for pc and added the XBL cards and converted to ultimate while I hade time left on gamepass for pc... it works
I deactivated the auto-renewal, added 2x 1year of XBL and 2x 3 months of gamepass for PC.
Between each redemption I activated/desactivated auto-renewal to get 1 free month.
Now my subscription is ending 19/02/2024 (paid 135.96 USD)

I talked to a friend today that had nearly a full month left on his Game Pass PC subscription, then was able to activate 3x 12mo XBL cards (it didn't block him since it was a different subscription). But it seems that he capped out at 38 months of Ultimate after the conversion, so 1 month was lost. Basically cost him $146 (costco + newegg + $1), so the method you used was slicker.
I tried to talk to an MS rep over the phone and they said that I will have to wait a month which will then leave 12-months on my subscription so I can then add the 24-months to make it the max of 36 months. But I'm afraid this $1.00 deal won't be around in a month for me to benefit from the 36-months of GPU.
Please help!!! (And thanks in advance)
