300 nits but tested out at 347 nits overall

yes it is glossy.

The primary reason to get this laptop is because of its extremely light weight and thinness, and that's a good reason for many. Battery life is also phenomenal. The 1080 screen is great as well, above average for most laptops.

Drawback is it has last years CPU. It's an average performing laptop, but that's pretty good these days. Don't plan on doing any serious gaming on it, even with an external GPU. CPU will throttle down due to heat.

I have one of these and love it. Just got the Gram 17 for my mom.

Realistically, no.

Faster cpu + gpu = heavier = $600+ gaming notebook. At the same price as this lg gram, you'd get a i7/i9 + 1660 nvidia if not better in a gaming notebook sale. But that's 5lbs+.

....

Lg gram is 2-2.5lbs (depending on model).

2-in-1 notebooks under 3lbs with Tiger Lake Intel cpus are out. 35% faster cpu vs 10th gen, mx350 level gpu.

But this sale isn't targeting Faasst!

It's targeting Ligghhhhht!
Only thing lighter would be the 634 gram Fujitsu 13" in Japan in an ultra light laptop, but the lg gram is the lightest for a 15"+.

Lightweight to the point where one handed open carry isn't even dangerous ,) Doesn't even feel like it'll fall out of your hand unlike heavier notebooks.

...

Costco is REALLY nice for extended warranty on these.

The new Gram for 2021 is announced. This model's sucessor will be 16 inches 16:10 with lots of improvement. I know price will be much higher, but something to consider if you do not need it now

Not a sweet deal, but got the 17 at Costco for $1250. It's for my elderly mom who needs a bigger screen, light weight and portability.

Does this model has an extra bay for adding another SSD? Since the Ram is 8GBx1 I'm assuming upgradeable?

Yeah I'm hoping the price on these older models drop further especially 17" one, it's a good laptop. I saw it at costco, it has nice bright screen even in the brightly lit store and was very light weight yet good build quality.

Not terrible but i feel like so many good 8/256 machines can be had for $500ish ...or 12/16gb 256/512 and maybe even an i7 for $799...believe a few ryzen 7's too

it just fees a bit too much, but an LG gram is one of the few exceptions i would say is acceptable if thats what u were lookin for, as its a high quality machine with very good battery and i think display

I want something 15.6" and lightweight but I really need something with more CPU power, wish I could find something like this with a Ryzen 7.

Any recommendations?

I've had a gaming laptop and what I found is that I never game on the go like I thought I would so having a discrete GPU is just a waste for me.
The only time I game is on my desktop so going to spend the money there on a GPU.

I just want a good deal on 15.6" laptop that is lightweight with a powerful processor.
