Got rejected, have a 780ish credit score. Maybe too many credit card sign ups recently
From what I could find online regarding BofA these are their restrictions for credit cards:

- You can only get approved for 2 new cards in a 30-day period
- You can only get approved for 3 new cards in a 12-month period
- You can only get approved for 4 new cards in a 24-month period

Apparently it only looks at BofA cards. Where as the Chase 5/24 rule looks at any credit card issued to you, regardless of which company issued it to you.

Edit: Adding the 7/12 and 3/12 rules for BofA higher up to this comment.

"7/12 and 3/12 rule"

"According to this rule, customers with a BofA deposit account will not be approved for new cards if they've opened seven cards (across all issuers) in the last 12 months, while customers without a BoA deposit account will be rejected if they've opened three or more cards in the last 12 months."

Note that BOA play politic too, that might be the cause.

Best stay away from BOA.

Watch out slickers! Bank of america reports your transactions to authorities guessing what they consider possible crimes as they deem appropriate. Gov agency need not provide them a warrant. Be very careful with this banker!
Agree. Scary time. Best stay away from BOA.

Do either of these apply to you?

Applied and was approved. Only $8K though. Wife was approved for $5K. $200 + $200 will pay for most of our food in Vegas Smilie

We have Discover with $16K but never go over $5K and always pay it B4 the interest charges kick in.

Have it both personally and for business and earn 1.75% CB on each purchase at minimum as have preferred status with them. Plus the upfront CB is timely. BofA does have higher rate of decline; ran into that with them in the past, not so much in last few years. Credit typically between 790-825. They also show FICO score which is good.

At least on three occasions , the card didn't pay 3% for online shopping and said they go by merchant codes. These were big ticket online purchases. The customer service is horrible and takes long time to reach for rewards related issues that get dragged for weeks and is by means of paper communications handled by different department. So don't go by getting 3% always.

Good friends, my debit card is about to expire and the replacement card sent by the bank by mail seems to have been lost, in the app there is an option to report loss but I don't know if it is the card they sent me or the one already I have. I find it difficult to go to an agency. they know something about it. Thank you

Does anyone know if BOA ALWAYS lets you keep the cash back when you return an item? I have returned items before or had partial refunds, and they have not taken the cash back away.

I am trying to decide whether to return an item or not because on ebay I'd only get $20 profit, but returning it would have me with $26 cash back if it's not taken away, so more profitable to just return it...

They didn't give me the 3% for a lenovo purchase or a shopblt purchase. The shopblt one says .com right in the charge on the card and yet somehow that wasn't an online purchase...

Lenovo is a mighty known company to not be getting considered to be an online purchase when rodering from them!

I would call and try to get it, but now i reached the quarterly $2500 limit anyway. Good thing I have 2 BOA cards so that is $5l per quarter I can get it for.

Also, what's WEIRD is purchases through paypal DO count as online purchases. I figured those would be the ones they'd not consider online purchases.

I called them and it's messy and are confused themselves , one support person told that I changed the category other person told I reached limits and another one said MCC code is different . Is there a way to dispute ?

I don't even know. That's why I am just not even fooling with calling them, since I reached the limit. Had I not accidentally reached it by using one card vs the other card, I'd be claling them and be in the same emss of a situation as you are dealing with, I bet. And other CC companies have even worse service than theirs too. It's a big headache calling anyone.

And for my 2 purchases I mentioned that was at least an extra $30 I would have had.
