Wow great deal. You could use the S20 as a stepping stone to the S21 by trading it in next year. You may even get more than $400 trade in credit.

Reps are not correct as always. Existing customer need to add new line by port in from other carrier. If you are in existing promo like 4a 5G wait to complete 60 days. By default this promo is only for port in from other carrier. Few are reported GV numbers are eligible but not sure. I am with Fi under 4a5G promo and remaining 18 days to finish 60 days.
Where are you getting that? In the details of the deal, it doesn't say anything about activating on a new number.

I beat you for 2 days Tux, I need 16 days more. Lol. If it's me, easiest port number is to get a Tracfone number for $10 and be done with it. $600 is too much to risk.

GK, True. You only suggested to go with 4a 5G. Thanks again now.

I was tempted to pull the trigger yesterday after I sent PM to you but still thinking to make another 90 days in Fi.

Based on my experience and several posts in reddit, it is better to create new GMail account and get the number from eBay and buy the device for $400. If you use ref, you will get $20 which is good for second month for $20 plan ( Only talk and taxt - $10/GB). Port out after 90 days.

Hehe. What I've noticed is it's harder for me to resell a phone priced more than $400. It will get stuck in my "inventory" ☺️.

I did this to get my Note 20 Ultra when it was just a $500 credit. They said my Note 8 would be worth $350. When they received it, they said $90 because it wasn't
the phone I said it was. Luckily, having been through a similar thing with Samsung a couple of years back, I took many, many photographs. Finally, after 45 minutes with
customer service and being upgraded several times I got a solution. Ended up getting $370. So, all told, I got the Note 20 Ultra for almost $900 bucks off. VERY worth it,
but be prepared to fight.......

I'm on vacation right now in the usa. do I have a chance to get this promotion? I will be going in February. Can I leave the 3 months of google fi paid while I use the phone in my country or at least pay it while I use it in my country?

It is better to avoid ref msgs here. Otherwise it will also go like Cricket thread where it moved to manual review and loaded all the messages after 3 days :-(

Activate the Samsung S20, S20+, or S20 Ultra on the same account used to purchase the phone.

Yes, a full service plan. Not a NEW full service plan. I already have one that I intend to activate the phone on.

I'm not trying to argue here -- just from what I got from the rep and the language in the Promotion Terms, it seems like it would work. Plus, I'm anxious about the deal and would like to know if I qualify...

If I have the chat saved, will they credit me even if the rep was incorrect?

Thank you 🙏
I'm interested in the Note 20 Ultra from Google Fi as well. 899 still is cheaper than any other carrier offering this device that I've found (most still offering at close to full price of $1399).

I'm on Verizon now, and the wife needs good service as she travels all around our region, including the outskirts of towns, in case she has car trouble or something.

On the fence about pulling the trigger - it's unclear to me how T-Mobile/Sprint networks are around here and if there's bad coverage how much US Cellular roaming is available from the other big carriers...

If anyone has any insight to find out that would be most appreciated. (I did look at US Cellular's 4G coverage of the area and it looks good, just don't know if Google Fi leverages it or how that decision is made)

She has a Pixel 3 - according to Google Fi's website this does do network switching so I think we could try it before committing?

FI chat is YMMV.

Recent example - I have $20 credit in my FI account and I chatted with the rep last week to apply $20 credit towards my current month due $15. She said I applied the credit and it will be updated in 24 hours. I am sure she didn't do anything because in all carriers, adjustment are instant. It is more than one week nothing happened and autopay cleared $15 on scheduled date. Two cents are - Don't trust FI chat rep words and better don't touch your existing account.

If you activate with existing line and after 90 days, you may get a msg like you didn't activate the phone with new line. Try to avoid unnecessary head ache with Fi. Lot of stories in Reddit.
